32 inch TV under 35 kV stress
Ғылым және технология
I tried to revitalize this Philips 32" CRT TV. Picked it up at the road side about 3 weeks ago.
With the ZVS i did not get a picture on the screen.High Voltage DC didn't work.
Then i found this old oil tester in my garage, which works amazingly well. Applying voltages between 15 and 35 kV AC yielded a red, blue, and green picture.
Interesting lightning style arcs are observed around the neck of the CRT.
X-rays may be emitted at very high voltages from the neck of the tube.
The arcing sound is very loud, the camera's microphone doesn't do it justice.
This is an High Voltage experiment. Electrical Power to be isolated before touching is a must.

Love the look wife in the background gives like "why don't you get something useful to do".

I noticed immediately...it's not good at all, this is an example where the small things become big things.

Or just get your own place and do what you please. Sometimes it's lonely in the bedroom, but it's paradise everywhere else.
lol keep collecting the goodies from those TV's Raymond, Thanks for the shout!!
at 3:20 .....As Mr. Photon would say: "...It's fizzing a bit at the back!" and......."Yeah I like that. TOO MANY volts!" Yes, that was definitely an interesting light show on this tube. Thanks for taking the time to set this up & do a vid on it. You got the tube to throw some interesting shapes as well. :-D Thanxx for showing, -BoomBoxDeluxe.
I love that HT power supply, I use to use something similar for testing insulation properties of transformer oil, I think it may have been up to 100KV. I wish I can get my hands on it now! Great video!
i can feel the x rays from here
Best experiment with tv EVER!!!
that oil tester is awesome!!
That crossed my mind. Will do that in a future video, wonder if the TV may work as an oscilloscope.
Amazing. Electricity is fascinating.
I get the same static from my wife.
Thank you. I am aware of X-rays emitted at certain high voltages.
That was very cool ray. Just seen this video mate. Sorry for the delay mate lol That h.v unit ya got from work looks awsome. You have to make another video of that some time! and inside of it!! As id love to see the workings and how it works. if ya could mate. Its one sweet unit. Thanx for sharing friend. Enjoyed ya video mate. THUMBS UP*
Lol. She's thinking "he's with the TVs with the camera again"
Yes, normally dull red/orange at 6.3 Volts. These filaments were overvolted at twice the normal voltage. ( 12.6 Volts ) hence they were very bright orange.
Pretty cool actually
I love the little bug crawling away at 4:08... "Ahhh I'm getting the hell out of here!!" LOL
Rodalco: Andy from PhotonicInduction would have popped that TV by now. You didn't use a high enough voltage.
man i really like that HV AC PSU !
What does Kv do to TV Rodalco?
Trying to arc high voltage dc to the CRT tube.
what is you yearly electic energy cost? im kinda intrested in that
you are friking crazy ! it's great!
At 5:02 it looks like a science fiction movie!
what camera u use?
what would that be? deflecting the bass?
Wonder if the X-rays might sneak past my screen :P
My geeky testosterone levels peaked with with this video! Love it! at 2:23 it looks like a portal is ripping through the fabric of reality with that reflection.
I don't really know, maybe looking old , who knows. electrically the unit is safe. A more modern replacement was bought to replace it. The glass electrode jar was cracked.
Photonicinduction and RODALCO2007 should meet up and pop things! Plus old electronics that had seen better days, too for fun and giggles.
very impressive :O
Actually making Ozone here with the electrical arcs.
I've noticed that cameras unfocus alot when their filming sparks...
Does this guy work at the CRT recycling centre or something cos he wastes a lot of crts for no reason
3:14 looks so cool

Sometimes it helps to have a clean out in the garage. Still didn't get the circle as in your video.
You are aware you just gave yourself a dose of X-Rays, right?

be cool if he painted a sheet with glow in the dark paint and put his head between so we could see what's inside.
The magnetic fields seem to upset the focus.
what are you doing at 1:00
4:09 Run bug, RUN!!!
I think you should have a geiger counter having around when applying 30KV+ on a vacuum tube :-) nice vid though
Thanks
holy shit damn thats a lot
:O WOO COOOOL YES WELCOME !!!!!!!! GREEN (Y) * * * * *
was that the mrs. in the background?
I’ve never feed the anode of a CRT AC volts so perhaps that explains all the fireworks as it would act as a diode. Normally the back of the tube is grounded to form a capacitor too. Above 25 kV the tube may emit x-rays but you already have kids so I guess that’s ok. :-) Re the x-rays if it really got started you may see random white spots via the camera as they hit the image sensor but that is not a reliable test. Take care.
Please save some TVs for me too!!! Lol!
Lol so that what happend to my Philips CRT TV, my parents gave it away and it was my fav ;(

SuperMario64Betafan why would they do that if it's your favorite TV!? That's kinda sad!
LOL ! summer footwear in my workshop
touch it!
How many friggin CRT's DO YOU HAVE!?
nice, camera didn't like the emr
My favourite tv show!!! Lol
You'll be able to do some real damage with that kilo-volt AC power supply... Poor defenseless TV sets will really try to get away now that thing around! Grab an old cellphone that works and start spiking it with that power supply and see how long it lasts! Great stuff, cheers.
Excess High kV causes arcing and damages the lead protective cover on the CRT. It will destroy electronics.
sounds like a water softener
the capacitor effect of non electric polarization
# 2999. I finally put this CRT to sleep and recycling centre after venting it at the neck.
those beams of electricity almost look fake! porbably not im assuming
If you're going to do this again, then give some AC to the deflection coils, so see what happens on the screen!
50,000 Gigawatts !!!!
pump some bass through the deflection coils
Yes, she will kill me when she knows that she in on this KZread.clip
that looks very loud! wait...
Pop corn :)
About an other 20 or so.
Kewl
About NZ$ 4000, or about 2700 Euro's
You forgot to set it to Wumbo
SHOCKY SHOCKY LOL
13000 kWh
now try to hardwire a lcd to do that it cant be done becaus they not good enough
0:17 The old lady is fed up with that KZread bullshit!

@@hardminder I understand, what I can't understand is how the fuск you dare to think that your opinion means everything, like you said, "this video and his others are buІІshіt". This, in not only mine, but creator's and other people's opinions, great way to have fun.
let´s think about that: f=w/h 35000/4,14*10^-15= 8,451*10^18hz (2.998*10^8)/(8,451*10^18)= 35.46pm if i am right you produced some x-rays ;) anyway they would propably be too weak to harm anything.
i ones tok apart a TV and was not messing with the light in the center of the TV and it violently explded sereus warning never even thump the thing plzzz don't 😨

X rays
you are just creating a high voltage diode overcharging and its generating x-rays and that's deadly dangerous
2:23 There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. RODALCO2007 is controlling transmission.
now power up the degauseing ring lol =3-
i dare u to touch it
LOL !
