This is one of a series of videos on the first Scottish War of Independence, 1296-1328. It is made to support the Scottish topic of the Higher history course, though it may also be of use to those with an interest in the timeframe.
This video recaps Bruce's war against the English occupation of Scotland from 1309-1314 and then covers Edward II raising a new army of invasion for 1314. The strengths of both armies are reviewed before describing the layout of battlefield upon which they would meet at Bannockburn. The video then covers the events from day 1 of the 2-day battle.
