Lol 50-100 for a good fire extinguisher. All riders should carry one especially someone dumping 20-30k into a quad. C'mon guys....

I’ve been riding not only quads but, sleds, and dirt bikes and all kinds of things and I’m lucky enough to say this has never happened to me but I even shed a tear watching someone else’s pride and joy go out like that. Hope your new ride is even more bitchin than the last Tj.

Man I can't imagine! That hurts big time! That said, every atv riders first investment after purchase should be a good fire extinguisher. I didnt buy a thing, or even ride it once until I had one mounted and ready for action. Lesson learned for this guy I suppose. Hope his smoke inhalation wasn't too bad! I had smoke inhalation after entering my neighbors burning house to search for her two years ago in September and never regained my lung capacity. A year later had an altercation with a theif which left me breathless, and I had the worst asthma attack. I thought I was going to pass out. Then things started to get worse. I've been living on an inhaler. Using it way too much! Smoke inhalation sucks!!

The worst part is in the U.S. there are tons of nasty people that burn trash (against the law) and it has the same chemicals as you were breathing.

So sad to see that happen. Just a quick question, is your renegade a gen 1 or 2? If its a gen 1 is it hard to get parts for the heavily modified ones like that now? Also would it be worth building a gen 1 now that they are starting to get very old.

Damn this takes me back to mud mats 2013 when me and my crew pulled up on ol boys fully built grizzly 660 burning to the frame and little bit of the rear rims cuz they were buried in the mud. Shit was sad to watch but by the time we got there the gas tank had done fueled the fire so it was OV. Him and his wife sank their tax money in on the build just to make mud nats. And this happened Thursday morning about 10:00. Still had 3 full days to go.

Hmm I've always carried a fire extinguisher with me when riding. I've never had to use one, but don't go out without one. Maybe its just a habit from back in my jeep crawling days. Never know when the tank could get punctured.

My sled started on fire and lucky I got it out with a shuffle and some snow

At the end it looked like a normal ride out on a polaris. My sportsman 1000xp caught fire five times. Voltage regulations are shit on the 1000xp.

So sorry about your ride man !! Very hard to watch!!

@@ExtremeAtvOffroad Many highs before we hit Mud Nats, then mine died, nothing but a simple wiring issue...but 3500 miles away from home and the shop and only minimal hours between stops. Trip was semi-ruined. Just not fire ruined in which I am grateful for. That's a lot of damage in one ride, now I am second guessing if I really want to make that trip out there, as if that happens....you'll find me at the nearest pub!

It was being fueled by nitrous and fuel so it was out of control

Had my house burn down last July due to a quad lighting on fire in the garage. It’s not fun to see, for the first 10-20 minutes we were just sitting there watching everything we had burn but after that you kinda get over that fact a little bit and we were all cracking jokes about it and what not. I feel the pain that he is going through with the loss of his expensive equipment but at the end of the day no one was hurt and that’s what matters. I’ll try and drop a donation for him

Most ATV and UTV fires start while muddying. The motors are all ways in the upper RPM range and there is no air flow do to the low speed because of the mud. All these 4 wheelers and no fire extinguishers. Sorry it happened to you. Glad no one was hurt.

This was a nitrous back fire caused by a stuck siliniod is what we are thinking it was being fueled by nitrous and fuel so she was a runaway
