The midget 20 is one of the sturdiest boats, it’s 20 feet but almost unsinkable. I have the same boat I love it.

It is a lovely little hull, really ideal, although it has amazingly little freeboard. You stumbled on a boat design that likely saved your life.

I thought that looked like a Nordica, but it's a Canadian Halman. Pretty stout boat, especially for small size.

There's always people that look down on what other people have. Because it's small does not mean it is not possible or someone is not capable of achieving something. I have a 23 foot westerly and I have been put of after people who say you can't sail too far offshore in that as its far too small. Yet many people have sailed long hauls in a small boat. You don't have to have a fancy expensive what do they call it a blue water boat. Fancy name fancy boat.. Andy has proved this fact and he is proud of doing it. Well done Andy.

That is such a badass little boat. I would think that with the sails stowed, you could go below, batten down the hatches and ride out anything. Just have plenty of battery and a good bilge pump.....and seatbelts!

wow love to see smaller sailboats actually sailing, but this one.. looks like a toy tugboat... the waterline isn't 20 ft so its gonna be mega slow, but going through 30 ft wave is really good for a 20ft boat, i'm surprised you didn't get capsized, you have the right reflexes for sure.

Not so impossible, Tristan Jones did it in Sea Dart, read his book 'Incredible Voyage'. Small boats, especially ones as seaworthy as yours, can go anywhere, the only thing that stops them is the skipper.

Got a 24' Lapworth Gladiator made in 1965..min 7.5 ' wide... These smaller boats take significant effort to spray proof the interior but they are the only way working class folks can afford to said long distance

Trailing the boat over the Andes then sailing it to the Atlantic HAS BEEN DONE by Tristan Jones in a very small boat who trucked his boat from the Pacific to the Titicaca Lake where he sailed then to the Paraguay River and the Rio de la Plata down to Argentina and the Atlanta. The Incredible Voyage is the book he wrote telling this awesome story … So this is certainly daring but it is not that stupid !!!…

There is a wonderful body of cruising literature ( I know Books ! ) written in the 50's and 60's, all world voyaging done in small boats. Trekka, Sopranino, Virtue 25, and in more modern times Lyn and Larry Pardy's books. Plus the Hiscocks, Josuha Slocum, New Sailors should read these to pick up the tricks of small boat voyaging.. so they know what to do when confronted with surfing down a wave... or any number of other things that are bound to happen. Nobody should be out in blue or green water.. uttlerly ignorant of these basic tactics for" Heavy Weather Sailing." which happens to be the title of Adlard Coles must read classic book.

Gran dilema... quiero un barco más grande, pero no tengo el dinero para comprarlo y mantenerlo. Entonces sigo trabajando con la esperanza de ahorrar lo auficiente. Pero nunca llego... y sigo trabajando con una esperanza... y nunca llego al barco que quiero. La otra opción es comprar lo que puedo con lo que tengo ahora, salir a la aventura y que sea lo que Dios quiera.
