The powder my father and his generation used in their 30-06’s for 110’s was H380. I use it as well and it performs very well. If you are not going to put that bullet in the groves, seat it completely in the neck of the case. A longer jump will not always diminish the accuracy. IMR might work a little better but I don’t know. Just a suggestion from an old hand loader.

with the light bullets I've had good luck with and recommend 47g imr4895 win. primers , max case capacity with zqi brass imr3031@46.5g win. primers that high from all the data i have, but I have lots of case and pressures are good. it bangs 600 yd steel real quick and tight head size groups on good days that my favorite w/ hornady 110sp shooting out of an ar10 18" 1in10 twist barrel. oal 2.625-2.630". the fist time I shot that bullet out of that rifle I couldn't believe it shot that short Lil thing so well because it usually favors heavy slugs .Just proves you can't predicted how a rifles gonna shoot any bullet even when you have all the data points to the opposite outcome

Great video JRB, I'm a big fan of the Forster ultra micrometer seating dies also. I use them in all my calibers. I had to do some polishing to the inside of the .223 die and seating stem as it was scuffing the bullet and also leaving a ring on the bullet a little more than I'm comfortable with on my SMK's, but it polished out nice. Would love to see the 175 grain SMK bullet with 41.8-42.0 grains of IMR 4064. Or the same 175 SMK bullet with a ladder of Varget. COAL 2.800 Or the 168 grain SMK bullet with either 42 grains of RE-15, or the same 168 grain SMK with 43-43.5 grains of Varget. Or 42.8 grains of IMR 4064. COAL 2.800 All should be good shooters. Keep up the great work and thanks for the info.

I use 125g Sierra soft point for hunting with my 300blk and 308. Powder for 300blk is lillgun at 19g and 308 is ir2206h at 40g. Use both projectiles over both guns for budget. Want to find a common powder that gives same results as above. Please make a video series of short, medium and distance hunting gun calls that use common projectiles, powder and if possible primers. Reason, guns are hunting tool and we use right gun for job so need short, medium and long distance tools for medium game aka goats, pigs, deer ranges... cheers and happy to discuss, gav

I use 43-45 grains H4895 with the 110 VMAX and get sub MOA, quite often depending on my shooting bullets holes touching each other. I use RCBS dies, COL 2.655in and CCI Large rifle primers, velocity is around 3000 FPS. It's an excellent round that I really enjoy shooting. Back when I only had my 308 I would use 110 VMAX for predator hunting and 150 SST's for deer, 180 Barnes TSX for moose. It is a pretty versatile caliber and I found easy to reload for but I stick with H4895 as my main powder and Reloader 15 as a very good second choice.

I find 1/10 seems limited to heavier (168) bullets and slow 1550 FPS, 16 inch barrel to get tighter groups 1 inch / 100 yards . Using Accurate 2460. Comments appreciate.

At the end you mentioned you were going to do some more testing with maybe 4895. Have you done that? or if your still evaluating powders, I'd like to know if you have any luck with 3031. I've use 46gr with COL 2.74, / .05" over, and a slight squeeze on the neck with a LEE. Coming out of the Tikka Tac A1 is 3199fps avg, (I didn't write my SD down). my group has been inside 2" @ 200yrd. I'm a varmint hunter, and it is a very humane way to control the coyote problem around cattle ranges.

The 308 combination I'd suggest you test is the Nosler 125gr Ballistic Tip over Varget. In my Savage Precision Carbine 20" barrel it produces slightly over 3000 fps and will plunk 5-shot groups into 5/8" groups all day. The really interesting part is that bullet is good out to 700 yds, which is not something most people would think such a light "varmint" bullet would do well. Low recoil, high velocity and good accuracy.

Midway had sierra 110 grain hp blems on sale for $.12/round and then dropped them down to $.08/round right after I ordered some @ $.12. I figured they would be okay for the blackout if I can get them to shoot well, but was wondering how they would do for head / neck shots on deer this fall from a 20" 308. Considering testing them all the way down to 2,600-2,700 fps at the muzzle (gun is super over gassed) if they are too explosive with inadequate penetration. Never shot anything below 150 grains in 308 and I usually run 175-200 grains, so this is all new territory to me. Oh and shots here in western tn will likely be under 100 yards with

I thing the 2 piece floating firing pin in the BLR is the problem.. I see a lot of videos of factory ammo in the BLR not going off too.. No doubt! I am going to be doing some work on my front sight posts on the Swiss guns within a couple weeks. Videos should show up soon!

110gr 308 must be fast. Lets see some 3200+ velocity. Whatever it hits probably explodes.

The 110 vmax is jumping a looong way. The LFC die will bring the sd down a bit. At least it did for my 700VS.

That's 2 videos that I've seen using that brass. Not working for ya as evident by the SDs I think.

I usually use h414 and 4350 powders for my 30-06 and I love 160gr bullets or 180gr. I also have 230gr bullets but they tumble when I shoot them?

My first rifle was a tikka t3 lite s/s bbl,syn stock with 4x12x40 vx1.in 223. Not bad rifle. Everything I bought after this was not to this standard. Even the browning x bolt, stainless stalker in 308. My last rifle is a sako a7 . Budget sako line with a vx 3 . In 22_250. Looks cheap but feels right in the hand and shoots well. If I had my time again all my rifles would be tikka or sako with Leopold scopes . Just fine for hunting purposes. I'm relatively new to hunting and old and grey. 300mtrs is my limit. Never had any issues with the t3 or a7.

You probably would have been better served to try five different powders, one group each; than five groups with the one powder.
