308 SLAP Round vs 1/2" AR 500 Armor Plate
Ойын-сауық
I picked up some 308 SLAP rounds (Finally) and wanted to see how they did compared to other 308 rounds on some AR 500 Armor plates. I think we will be getting some more and see if they can hang with some 50 Cal SLAP rounds.

Those slap rounds were very effective. But man that knife, two slices and that block was done, that's a knife.

@@kendodd8734 it would honestly do less damage to an unarmored target. The round is smaller/moving faster due to it being a sabot round. The average 50 bmg round is larger and moving slower. Although a bullet is still a bullet. I wouldn't want to get hit my any type of round

Level IV ceramic for sure would get passed through like butter with a 5.56 Tungsten core round but they cost a phenomenal amount of money per round. Tungsten is not expensive-maybe $350 a kilo. It does however take an incredible amount of energy to melt, I think more than any other metal including titanium.

@@arminiusthehibernian7282 I wonder if you could make some sort of interstitial alloy (for bigger density and hardness) from maybe iron/steel and some other cheap metal. Yeah as I expected. I've heard stories of guys with 240s loaded with SLAP hunting Russian BTR 70s Saddam bought during the second invasion. Heard that they shot through to both sides of the vehicle hull with sustained fire. I believe if memory served me that it was 5th Special Forces that did it. I could wrong about the who did it but it is definitely believable.

But I don't remember which one. Check out his videos, been months now. Edit: You have to remember BTR70s that were for commercial export by the RU don't have the same level of armor as western equivalents. Hell, up armored humvees will get rocked by just fmj 51 cal Dshks. Can you imagine a smaller round with AP loaded? Especially getting shot at by multiple 240s with SLAP loaded by guys with a crap ton of trigger time on those 240s? Edit 2: BTR 60s.

If you reloaded that slap round into a 300 win mag casing, that would be badass.

Please do multiple slap rounds out that thing at a plate or multiple. That’ll be so satisfying to see the damage it could do if used in a firefight.
