300 Cichlid Sump Revamped! Powerhouse!

It was time for a change, an improvement in many aspects. Having left over colored PVC from my saltwater build, I decided to put it to good use to not only enhance the appearance of this massive filtration system, but to also improve on the system's efficiency. The new set up allows me to run a much higher flow rate at a lower main pump power setting...a win-win.
I was able to "clean up" a handful of areas that were not optimal, making more direct routes for water flow and reducing drag and turbulence. Sound over the top? Perhaps, but I am left with a new and improved system that has actually surprised me in efficiency and power consumption.
This system has also been set up as a "smart" tank like my saltwater set up. I am using wifi outlet plugs and an app on my phone (Gosund).
As always, Thanks for watching, Please Subscribe!

Not gonna lie, your previous work was amazing but looks like a maze (and getting all the info was hard for me that English isn't my first language). This one kept the efficiency but looks way more minimal! Congrats to you

Just recently bought a 210 mega overflow aquon tank and deciding on sump setup, what gallon sump do you recommend to get for biological, mechanical filtration , and what size return pump, would also like it to be big enough for backflow if power was to go out to prevent flooding over. Thanks, great setup you have

When it comes to sumps I always recommend going the biggest you can. I use a Trigger Sapphire 44 sump on my 210. If I were to do a DIY sump on this tank (the only one I didn’t), I would use a 75 gallon tank, which would be a much more cost effective route.

@@coolermaster no change to the K1 except for the pump....it may just be the different flow and the lower power setting. If I crank the pump up it completely becomes full looking.

This is an absolutely gorgeous set up. I am currently in the process of setting up a 240 for my Africans. My question is - in your K1 chamber you now have some kind of blue media circulating in there, what is it?
