30+ Year Equipment Manager Talks History of Penn State Football and Joe Paterno stories!
Bradley "Spider" Cardwell was the Head Equipment Manager for Penn State Football since 1982-2014. He was brought into an organization with high respect and high standards for success and he tells us stories of how much he excelled those standards through every season, every week, every game-day.

Much respect for Spider. Great episode.
Excellent interview! I would to see more PSU content like this because I feel like there's a new era of fans who are totally disconnected to the JoePa era. And I think that creates unrealistic expectations for Franklin as they want him to do in 10 years with one hand tied behind his back what Joe did in 40.

Indeed. Fortunately for those of us who know both, we understand Franklin and his desire to mold his team into quality, education-minded young men first, NFL-worthy players second is perfectly Paterno-esque.

Thanks for the support! more Joe Pa era content definitely coming soon
I was the equipment manager for Susquehanna University football team from 2005-2009. I loved it!
Another great episode, Landon -- thank you! So much respect for Coach Paterno from both Spider and you, the room was a little dusty with a couple of his stories. Totally forgot about the barrage of excuses from Sacca. Ugh, fall of '88 freshman year nightmare flashbacks.
You did an amazing job with the interview, very well done! I originally met you on April 23rd in Annapolis Maryland for a meet and greet with all the Penn State Football players from Maryland! I purchased your children’s book and you even autographed it for my niece. You were a pleasure to speak to and I really enjoyed it. Keep those KZread videos coming Landon, you’re doing an awesome job! 🙌🏻

Thank you so much for the support! A lot of fun videos coming in the future
Great pod bro. Give you credit man, you do a good job
Bro these stories are amazing gotta have him on another video
We never needed names on our players backs, because we are die hard Nittany Lions 🦁 fans and have the knowledge to know our players!!! WE ARE
Great interview Landon. Spider was a local celebrity to us students in late 80’s and early nineties. It does feel as if there is a disconnect between alumni from 90’s (I am class of 93) and more recent classes. So many of us 50+ yo alumni and fans were students of JoePa’s game, and how he managed the game and life. I met Joe before our first Natty and still have his autograph circa 1980 or so. A series of interviews of the 94 team (or even the 2005 and 2008 teams) by yourself and maybe Dawkins and Hawk would galvanize the two. Coach Franklin, staff, especially past players for Joe are what will get us our next trophy. We Are!
Ngl, I wish the generations of greatness had the names on the back, just for that one week to honor that time period
Someone tell Landon his name is Spider, not Spotter.
Tell the story about us playing USC in the meadowlands, when Joe fired the bus driver……😂

Hilarious, true though 🤣!!! Joe Pa did fire the driver 😂!!@
What was his injury that ended his career? Or was he just soft?
No Natty for 38 years. Last two were during the Sandusky years.
I wonder if he feels guilty at all?
