30 THINGS I DECLUTTERED IN MY 30s 🌟

My thirties have been a wild ride of self-discovery and transformation. Here’s a list of the 30 best things I have decluttered to come more into alignment with my higher self ✨

It’s interesting that giving things up - such as eating meat and dairy, dying your hair, wearing makeup, drinking alcohol, reducing possessions and unhealthy stimuli, cutting back on driving and flying etc. (all of which I have done) - is seen by others as deprivation and self denial. The experience is the opposite, for me, as I feel more calm, enriched and authentic. It makes me an outlier among some of my friends but that’s okay we love and appreciate each other, despite our differences!

@@kirstenvangorkom1196 I’m 63, it’s a process. No one can tell you how to be self confident, or that what people think of you doesn’t matter. Are there key steps? Most likely. Am I well versed enough to articulate what those are? Not really but I’ll give it some consideration. A couple of rules to live by for me include the golden rule of course, truly coming to know that what people think or say about you is none of your business, wanting to cultivate a tribe of folks you connect with, and I want also to repeat what she said about not gossiping. That is pretty toxic behavior. I guess the bottom line is first deciding this attitude is truly something you want to cultivate.

@kirstenvangorkom1196 It’s a process. I have two videos titled “Own your energy: lessons learned from being a gogo dancer in Las Vegas” and “the most important person to love” that go more in depth on the journey to self love and confidence, if you want to check those out. The more confident you are with yourself, the less other people’s opinions matter 🙂

I burst into tears twice watching this! You said so many things I related to. I turn 35 this year. The biggest things I’ve declutterred in my 30s are: smoking weed, drinking alcohol, the habit of fake tanning, dyeing/bleaching my hair, useless papers/documents, tons of clothing, and lots of little “shit”. I’m excited to see what I let go of over the next few years. I’m happy I discovered your channel. I’ve been praying for women to come into my life that will positively influence me.

Your videos have helped me let go of our family home we raised our children in. It no longer aligns with this phase in our life and we have just bought a new bungalow style home and listed our 4 bedroom 3 bath traditional home. Onward to smaller but better for us! Thanks for teaching this older person it’s never too late to find your true self. The biggest thing I decluttered in my thirties was my need to create art. My passion for drawing and painting went away but I continued to do it because I thought it was a part of my identity. I realized I was only creating art for the likes on Instagram and not for myself. I finally decluttered all my art supplies and have felt so free. It also opened up so much time for new passions!

I'm 46 and I've got white zebra stripes at my temples. I'm really embracing it and loving it and can't wait to see what my hair does in the next few years. Yeah, sometimes I feel pressure to conform and dye it...but this is my minimalism..I don't want the hassle and expense of the upkeep. I want to be me. One day I might dye it purple for the fun of it, but that would be for me and not because I feel I have to.

One of the things I need to declutter is the lack of trust in myself. It affects SO MUCH of my life. On the other hand, you reminded me of things I forgotten I stopped doing like not smoking anymore, not venting to the wrong person, needing a double bed (when im small enough and single enough to not need it just because im an adult now)

@@Exploravore I'm consistently told I'm too harsh on myself. And it is true. I am. I guess there is this false belief that if we see ourselves as bad people, that somehow it will protect us and keep us doing good. Or, maybe that's my OCD talking lol. I honestly think that people like you (us?) are not outcasts but rather outsiders. Always bearing in mind that these are just definitions, words and pointers that have no value per se. But remembering this just made me smile, that's why I decided to share this memory here. Thank you once again and good luck for your new apartment ❤

Things are supposed to breathe😅 no undies is another level haha. It’s upsetting to be creating so much trash too with all the products we are conditioned to use. I love how your videos give so much inspiration, from small to big things🥰 i started avoiding screen time in the evenings and getting up early to get fresh air, sunlight and movement before work day starts. Alicia, great video. You have really covered the gamut of all the areas that you have decluttered. Diet, possessions, finances, relationships, social media, the news, addictions, work life balance, personal insecurities. Most people only think of decluttering our posessions only. I admire your vegan diet and would like to gravitate to that for health reasons but was wondering how you get your B12 since you don't take supplements and the general consensus among nutritionists is that you can only get it from animal products. Your thinking on this? Thanks for your great example. Btw, I too think the world is nuts. I get tired out in traffic or crowds and only interact with humans if necessary for my survival. Even with my adult children I limit my interactions with them. I am satisfied with short visits

Science says all sorts of things lol. B12 is actually found in the soil, so nutrient rich organic fruits and veg can provide as well. No other animal in nature takes supplements. I’ve experimented on and off with B12 and don’t feel any different not taking.

@pandacadabra It’s a personal choice, but I believe Mother Nature gave us everything we need in the food we eat. No other animal in nature has to take vitamins or supplements- this is something humans made up… 😉

I'm so curious if you'd ever want someone else to take care of other social media platforms for you? and NOT because you won't be a smashing success without them :) but because your content is such medicine for the soul, it would be a gift to make it accessible to as many humans as possible...just my two cents. curious your thoughts.

I appreciate the consideration, but absolutely not. There’s nothing any other platform offers of value to me. It’s more important that I stay in alignment with my integrity than push outside of that to make a dollar. Plus I don’t want to clog other people’s feeds and mental real estate- this is what I stand against. KZread is a one stop shop for everything I need to say 💜

Actually I only drank decaf for 2 years before I quit. Decaf still has a micro amount of caffeine- it’s not caffeine free. Usually has 15-30mg depending on the brew. My tolerance got so low that even that amount was affecting me negatively. Plus it usually tastes like shit haha

Coffee for me is hardest to give up 🤦‍♀️ Once I drank L size regular coffee in afternoon and in evening I got palpitations in heart, shivering and anxiety. I made conclusion I became intolerant to caffeine as I didn’t consume it for long time.

During high school I used to bleach my hair with hydrogen peroxide, had it red though not blond. I burnt my hair so many times I lost count 😂 Animals are my spiritual teachers you know. Like you, I always keep in mind that animals don't do, think or give importance to the things we consider essential, and I behave accordingly. I like to have a very quiet life now, I was very social until my 40th birthday, then I turned my life upside down. Met my partner of 10 years and went to live with him on the island he was born, on top of a hill with different animals. And that was a revelation: I needed all the peace, and quiet and silence I can get. Bed early, no TV, no mundane distractions. Interesting what you said about not wearing undies...but how do you manage when you have your period?
