30 Minute Pilates for Lower Back Pain- Strengthen your Core and Ease Your Back

Join me for a 30 Minute Pilates class for back pain relief. It contains exercises to relieve the pain as well as build strength in your back and core muscles. If you have back pain I would recommend you aim to do this twice a week. I'm calling this my 'Back for Good' class - a class for general non specific lower back pain. It's important we tackle the singlest biggest reason for people taking time off work and seeing their doctor.
There are 540 million people affected globally with lower back pain at any one time and it is the main cause of disability worldwide. In the UK, over the last 20 years, there has been a 12% increase in how likely a person is to experience disability as a result of low back pain; globally, the amount of years people live with low back pain disability has risen by 54% in 25 years.
It is vital that we tackle this as soon as we start to experience it, and also to understand that back pain is manageable with regular exercise. I will take you through a series of Pilates exercises and stretches to help relieve your lower back pain. As always there are a mix of exercises to challenge your mind as well as body, and as always just do what you can. The session is followed by a Q & A which I do every week and is your opportunity to ask any pilates related questions. I am in total agreement with all the previous comments regarding instant relief for lower back pain. Thanks so much!! Ihad a lumbar L5-S1 spinal fusion surgery in Oct 20. My surgeon cleared me to do lower back Pilates workouts to help my recovery. Im so glad I found you. I am going to try and do this more to help my back Don't like being on front as my ribs feel fragile.
Your class is extremely helpful. Sometimes I find the breathing a bit difficult to keep up with and when to inhale and exhale, although I am getting better at it. Is it inhale going forward, belly expands, and exhale hollowing belly coming up? . Thank you!

Having a lot of pain after attempting flexion. I had back surgery 20 years ago and have screws in my back. I have very little back pain. But flexion sends me to using ice . Can you recommend anything other than avoiding flexion altogether. Love your work outs and at 76 do three a day plus back stretching. The core workout, no flexion at all, is oMe I do daily. Warmest regards from California and Arizona. Still locked down.

I also have sensations on my both hands the doctor operated it cut my tendons on my ring fingers (right hand) and middle finger (left finger) now my middle finger on my right hand is kinda twisted.
