30 Days of Dragon Staff - Tutorials for Beginners & Intermediate

30 Days of Dragon Staff - aka. From Zero to Hero! Are you a beginner or intermediate who doesn’t know where to take your dragon staff spinning? Looking for tutorials and inspiration? Look no further - here’s a MASSIVE collection of tutorials and ideas suitable for beginner to intermediate level that helped me out a lot!
IMPORTANT! Each clip in the video corresponds with a tutorial in the document found here:
drive.google.com/open?id=1sqX...
Brought to you by Stockholm Flow ( / sthlmflow ) - Sweden’s, if not Scandinavia’s, biggest flow arts community. A big thanks to Razed in Flames for the amazing gear and to the Dragon Staff community for all their help - you guys rock!
The staff is a collapsible carbon fiber staff from https//www.threeworlds.com.au - use the code STHLMFLOW at checkout for a 10% discount :) You can find dragon claws here as well, similar to the ends that I use in this video.
The spirals are from razedinflames.com/.
--------------
As some of you know, I spent a lot of time drilling dragon staff this December and after lots of requests I decided to summarize what I actually did and what tutorials I followed.
I also tried to remove some of the more stupid things I did in the beginning, like drilling bad matrix pathways etc and leaving those things for later. Naturally some things needed many days of drilling but the links to the tutorials will not be repeated so just scroll back up and check if you need to go back.
Keep in mind that I knew chi rolls and cheating death pretty well before this and practiced a minimum of one hour (most of the time more) with efficiency and a plan in mind so don’t worry if you go slower or faster than I did - this is just a collection of awesome tutorials and my own way of progressing my technique.
FIRST OF ALL - watch and follow this, no matter what your skill level. It’s a really good way of getting into the mindset of dragon staff:

Also, before beginning, make sure you are a member of / dragonstaff as some tutorials only exist there. Join the Tutorials - Dragon Staff group as well to maximize your potential! / tutorials.dragon.staff
And last but not least follow me on Instagram @Geecore and/or use the tag #30daysofdragonstaff for your progression videos - I would love to see people levelling up! :D

Hey Gustav! We met at EJC in poland quite some years ago (we spun a bit of partner poi, you told me to get a heavier pair :). I made a dragon broom today to get started and now I'm down the yt-rabbit hole. Good to see you kept the flow going - I'm not really practicing that much these days. Anyway, this made my awesome day even better. Take care!

With dragon staves you really don't want to go for the cheap versions - you get what you pay for, to be honest. I would highly recommend flowbonacci (find them on facebook) for heads but they are EU based. Otherwise threeworlds collapsible staves are to die for! Use the code sthlmflow for a 10% discount :)
