Wow, thats a heck of a long shot with a 30-06. Does the brass manufacturer impact the rounds performance? Or do you just get more loads using premium brass? What do you mean by "moved the lands forward 0.1"? Is the bullet 0.1 off the lands? How far do you normally stay off the lands? Is it different for each caliber or even per bullet & powder combo in each caliber? I'm currenly .25" off the lands using my 6.5mmCM Ruger Precision Rifle. I can consistently shoot sub MOA groups at 600 yards. I'm happy with that, but thinking about moving the bullet closer to the lands to see if I can get an even tighter group. How close can I safely get to the lands? I'm using Hogdcon H4350 power with Hornady 140gr ELDM bullets.
