Not sure what you mean, but accounting for the fact these laws are changing on almost an annual basis, roughly 33 states only need a regular license, while roughly 28 require a motorcycle endorsement.

Those look like a lot of fun for maybe an older person that wants to move away from motorcycles because of the inherent danger of getting older and riding motorcycles, or for anyone that doesn't want to ride a bike because of the obvious risks. It's obviously not the same,, but looks like it could be a fun little toy to ride around on the weekend.

A friend bought one of these in Phoenix for a good price during the summer months. He drove it back to Tennessee where he lives. He said it was the most horrible experience. It was so hot and the wind was blowing so hard against his face at highway speeds. The tiny windscreen diverts only a small amount of wind. He immediately bought an enclosed cab kit when he got home.

It is so lovely to see Scotty confirmed the manual transmission reliability. I like when he says it's fun to drive.

I rented a Slingshot for the day while on vacation in Sedona. My son and his cousin drove that thing all around Arizona and had a ball! They really are a lot of fun. Only issue was that you roast inside of it…sooo much heat radiates into the cab.

Imagine the garage full of real motorcycles for the price you pay for this trike😂

The problem isn’t so much about the drive belt breaking, lack of traction is the problem with only 1 drive wheel. Supercharging would be a waste of money.

Reminds me of the H-M Vehicles' Free-Way (1979-'82). If you ever come across one, Scotty, you need to do a review of it, one of the funkiest looking 3-wheelers ever made. Looks like a big space helmet, powered by a Tecumseh 1-lunger driving a snowmobile type belt drive.

If you're ever in Branson MO, there's a place that rents these for about $80/hr. Fun for 1/2 a day, but after that, I was ready to turn it back in. More of a novelty than anything else. Honestly, get a Miata over this. I know they're not really on the same level but the Miata will give you the same feeling with added benefit of being able to turn on the AC or heat.

They are exciting to drive I work for a repo company years ago And I have driven the first models a lot of fun a lot of fun No protection but you be aware And enjoy the air

Wait for the Aptera next year. Faster and more practical for about the same money. Also has Roush suspension. 3 wheel drive.

$30,000 +... rather pricey.

Polaris makes quality stuff. I have a 2002 325cc Trail Boss ATV, that finally was sacrificed to the "transmission god". Its sitting there waiting for me to fix it. I bought another one.....😃 Trails are a whole different universe.

A trike! 3 wheels is a trike! That’s how it’s been taught to me all my life. Here in CT those have to be reg and even insured but not many insurance co even know what they are! ATV maybe?

My dad bought one with the manual transmission and he loves it. I have an old Honda Shadow that I ride. When he first told me he was buying a slingshot I told him to get a bike so he could ride with me but he’s too old for that now and he makes a lot more money than me to be able to afford it. I bought my bike for $1200 and fixed it up for a couple hundred more.

Can confirm these are fun to drive, reminded me of a miata or even a lotus elise. Not pretty, but fun, and more interesting than 99% of cars on the road these days.

I like the "Can-Am'" as well. I would wear a skull cap helmet rather than the full face for the ATV/dirt bike. I'd wind up having a blind spot; and whiplash trying to look around me. No motorbike license? hmmmm🙂

We have had a 12v version of this for 4 years now. Very practical and reliable. With 18v 4amp Ridgid battery, it lasts about 4 miles. Takes 8 seconds to change battery and go another 4miles. Plenty range for my walking exercise with kids following me while playing their music via Bluetooth. 0-5 mph in 2 seconds 😂

I've always called it a trike. It's a three-wheeled motorcycle.

My son had 1.... Not super reliable... Lots of rattles and bolts that loosen up frequently....

For that money I would prefer a used Miata or MR2 hopped up.

Yes its not a racing machine but unfortunately with us humans we will find a way to make it a chain conversion or make it a drive shaft I bet it's possible but lots of trial and error I will say this wish it was a Japanese motor like a Toyota or a Honda engine these things would have a lot of upgrade options

Seat belts, stopping ability, maneuvering and swerving are just one of several reasons to get one. You are safer and seen better on this than a motorcycle. Not to mention your back wont hurt after a long trip.
