$30,000 Candlepin Challenge - June 15th, 2002

Спорт

After Scott Crayton beat Joe Tavernese the week before, he had to watch two new young bowlers duke it out for the right to face him in one of the last regular shows of the season. It turned out to be a VERY good show, with everything in the championship match coming right down to the wire.
Hope you all enjoy :)

I'd have to dig out the old VHS collection. I also still have an old match between Paul Berger and Ed Czernicki which Channel 5 taped the day after Stacia Czernicki died. Ed, naturally, was very choked up during the ending interviews when Don Gillis told everyone. Wolf, if you read this, I'll have to get in touch with you somehow. I live in New Boston, NH. My home lane is Leda, and sometimes Lakeside in Manchester. Saturday's the only day for me to travel. I'll be off 7/4-7/7 from work.

I remember that match well. I can give you the dialog word for word what Don said after he during the post match interviews when he was done w. Ed and told him to stick around for a bit. Very emotional scene. You can tell it weighed on Eddie the entire match

This was definitely an off day for Dan. I have a tape of him on Stars and Strikes where he gave Tom Olszta a run for his money before Olszta finally put it away in the 3rd string.

What year was that? Never seen Tom on Stars & Strikes. That match was I think in 1984.

I noticed many bowlers went over the line on the candlepin challenge which I found surprising
