3 YEARS to Break a World Record: Was It Worth It?
I spent 3 years of my life breaking the Guinness World Record for the Youngest Person to Travel to Every Country. I broke the previous world record, which had only been held by men, by over 3 years! Traveling to 196 countries was an incredible experience and I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to do so at my age.
There were so many ups and downs along the way and one of the hardest aspects of breaking this record wasn't even related to travel, it was the evidence required to prove that I had traveled to every county!
6 full months of intense organization after years of procrastination, I was able to submit nearly 7,000 pages of documentation in chronological order to Guinness World Records. I thought I had done everything by the book until I received an email that added 100 days onto my record...
In the end, I broke the Guinness World Record at 21 years old and I was invited to celebrate the accomplishment on the today show in New York City. This was by far the biggest challenge I have ever undertaken & it still feels surreal that I finally completed it and can share it with you guys!

@@minzi8422 I honestly did a terrible job planning my trip in Sri Lanka. I usually try to get away from cities and tourist traps to get a more authentic feel for the country I’m visiting. Choosing the path less traveled can occasionally/inevitably lead to unexpected complications, wasted time and frustration. Sometimes we miss once in a lifetime opportunities. Sometimes our experiences don’t live up to the expectations we created in our minds. And that’s to be expected! Being able to accept that things didn’t go the way you wanted them to and making the best of it anyway is a really important life lesson traveling has taught me.

Paramvir Singh How can you get bigger than this? This includes the entire Earth. Maybe start visiting other planets somehow? LOL!
Can't imagine of the things you went through! Only shows how brave and strong you are!!! Can't wait to see what to have to offer the world next!
!!!massive respect, Lexie!!!Well deserved !!!
This video was in my recommendations so I’ve never seen your videos before but I know Thomas from YesTheory is your boyfriend, that’s why I know who you are. Anyways, what struck me when I hear and see you talk is that you ”look” and sound like Thomas, it’s crazy, I see him in you when you talk 😃
So she got a leg up traveling already by 18. Got it.
Congratulations Lexie, getting the world record means a lot. But what really matters is the story behind it. This award is a recognition of your perseverance, hard work and a series of sacrifices that you had to face to get It. I have traveled to 10 countries and I can say that I have a new perspective of the world. I can't imagine the perspective that you must have? Greetings from Stuttgart (DE)
Soooo crazy! I just discovered your channel and I am so incredibly amazed by you. Hats off for achieving this insane goal!!!
I adore you and love what you are doing. I just wanna say though, that sometimes when you go after your goals you miss the fun of just doing it. As you were going for a record, it was really difficult just to enjoy the experience, I hope you gonna find the right mind set to comeback and actually enjoy yourself, cause when you scroll the game you will not enjoy it next time you play it. Maybe just choose different paths. ;) Love from Bulgaria.
12:15 That's the guy from Yes Theory, isn't it? :-)
