Just play at the biggest patch throughout the year and you never feel burn out. At X.0 for first released, X.2 for finished archon quest, X.5 or X.6 for lantern rite and X.8 or any last patch for klee birthday/summer event.

As a completionist, I can assure that every weapon, the 1 stars as well as the 5 stars, only has one appearance change. I upgraded all my weapons up to 2nd accession exclusively to have the modified appearance in my archives !

I didn't realize the weapon appearances changed until I had a Sacrificial Fragments on Sucrose and realized after some time that it's icon changed to purple and I thought I was losing my mind.

The only weapon that changes multiple times is the Melusine event claymore (cardboard claymore with the stickers) Namely, as every weapon does, it changes once on the 2nd ascension. But depending on how many of the Melusine quests you did, it can change multiple times, to gain stickers, that mark how much of the passive is active. If you did all of those before getting the claymore though, you can still see the no-sticker version, if it's not equipped to any character, and you just check it in your inventory. If it's equippedto an active character however, it'll show the stickers from the passive even when viewed in the inventory. Not sure about the archive though, that might not show the stickers.

I kept thinking how tiring it is for the designers/colour artist that have to design all the different types of weapons + the changes after each ascension... I'm PRETTY SURE it does change after each ascension for some weapons though😭 Could it be that they changed it to only once because of how much it consumes time and hardware space? Or has it always been change 1 time + different filter after each ascension? ....Am i delulu? 👁👄👁

@@OdyLoveMusicthey don't change after each ascension, if you go to the archive of each weapon (and have an ascended version of that weapon) there is a button to show the ascension appearance and pre-ascension appearance of the weapon. There are only two different designs, therefore they change only once.

@@OdyLoveMusic a few weapon skins aren't gonna take up THAT many resources, and with how hoyo deals with genshin, it would be weird to COMPLETELY REMOVE something like that after it was already implemented. if some early weapons changed every ascension, they probably still would, like how the old seelie pet colors make a whole lot more noise than the new one (whether you got the older color from one of the old events or the most recent one). if they _did_ completely reverse it for some reason, you'd be able to find a normal playthrough from three years ago where the 3+ ascension skins are visible.

I've been so out of touch from genshin these past months, coming back it feels so different yet so familiar in the strangest way. Like going from logging in daily and every event to nothing, to this casual state is so weird. I wanna see the story till the end hehe but wow im struggling, like all my teams are built and everything's just as perfect as I left it. But something feels off and I thought about it for some time. And it hit me, all the genshin content and the creators (like dish and the others) who made everything so so special as a newbie in 2021 and all the wonderful content MADE the game what it was. It seemed like every friend, every person and content creator I watched made genshin stuff. The atmosphere was great. Most friends I know stopped or moved on and it feels empty lol. Hehe I miss those old days^^

I have so many memories of various weapons changing twice at the first two ascensions, ugh

i thought the weapons have little changes until it's final form. that's what i've noticed. like the colors become brighter, then more details are added, etc. until the final form.

But extra fun-fact: not every weapon actually changes after the second ascension phase. Very specifically, the Sword of Narzissenkreuz (free 4* sword reward for finishing the Fontaine World Quests) doesn't get more sparkly when you ascend it. :(

Well, the sword that appears during Kazuha's story quest does indeed change multiples times 😂 it gets duller each time lol so that could count, maybe

Every weapon only changes once, after lvl40 ascension. If you go to the archive, u can select weapons and there is a button u can click to see pre-ascension and post-ascension as many times as you want to compare (only shows the one u already tried ascending)

I found out really early on that weapon ascension changes the appearance with sacrificial sword because the change was really obvious (blue to purple), but I never thought that they were multiple changes 🤣

I'm pretty certain the Favonius Sword and Claymore changes with every ascencion, the black strip along the blade gets longer until it reaches the end.

It only changes once, I remember specifically testing it out and it does when reaching lvl 50 so weapon ascencion 3 I believe

I sooooo feel you. I just also figured it out like 2 months ago after serious playing Genshin earlier this year. You are not going crazy, some of them definitely _use_ to change multiple times. I specifically remember Sacrificial Fragments and Widsith having several a different covers until it's final form. However, that's not to say it wasn't quietly patched out for optimization sake as that would take up _a lot_ of storage space for a detail almost no one will notice since most people bulk ascend their weapons and won't really notice the different stages.

Imma believe my own eyes that weapons change and gets brighter when ascending. What's on Archive could just be the 1st and Final Form comparison like Lv.1 vs Lv. 90 yep~!

Widsith gets gold embellishments instead of silver, the piano key design changes accents, the front cover transforms from the curtain scenery to starry sky. Book contents change from monochrome...grapes??-to technicolor grapes lol 🍇 😂 Tldr: guess this is what Forbidden Knowledge feels like...

It does change design after lvl 40, I have a jade spear on lvl 40 and lvl 70, both look different

I didn't notice other, but being colourblind, I am not surprised. I can't even tell the difference in colour between a 3-star wish comet thing and a 4-star.

The way I've been playing this game for 2 and a half years and I didn't even know the weapons change at all...
