3 x Delicious CHAMBORD Cocktails to Try!

3 x CHAMBORD Cocktails for Mother's Day!
FRENCH MARTINI
The French Martini was first created in the 1980s by New Year bartender Allen Katz (now the master distiller at New York Distilling Company). This an adapted recipe which calls for Chambord Black Raspberry liqueur in place of the original crème de cassis.
Cassis creates a drier style French Martini while Chambord creates a sweet, rich and velvety drink. The most popular recipe uses a 4:1:3 ratio (Vodka, Cassis, Pineapple Juice) but I've opted for the sweeter ratio of 1:1:2 (Vodka, Chambord, Pineapple Juice) which really heroes the Chambord. This ratio also works best when using a combination of store bought (unsweetened juice) and fresh press pineapple juice - the fresh pineapple brings extra acidity to balance the sweeter ratio.
INGREDIENTS
- 30ml Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur (1 oz)
- 30ml Finlandia Vodka (1 oz)
- 60ml Pineapple Juice (1 part fresh, 1 part unsweetened)
CHAMBORD ROYALE
The Chambord Royale is a simple and tasty variation of a classic Kir Royale, substituting the sweet, rich Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur in place of creme de cassis.
Chambord is made with a cognac base, red & black raspberries, Madagascan vanilla, honey and citrus - although the decadent liqueur's prominent flavour is black raspberry.
INGREDIENTS
- 7.5ml Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur (0.25 oz)
- 90ml Champagne or Prosecco (3 oz)
CHAMBORD SIDECAR
A simple variation on the classic sidecar (which is a descendant of the Brandy Crusta). The original Sidecar's origin is debated with both a French and English bar claiming to have first created the combination of cognac, Cointreau and lemon juice for a customer who arrived at the location in the sidecar of a motorcycle.
Bar veteran Dale DeGroff argues that the drink’s name references the mixture that’s left in the shaker after mixing a drink which is then strained and served in a shot glass on the side (and aptly called a Sidecar).
Chambord Black Raspberry liqueur can be used in place of the existing sweetener in many classic cocktails and the Sidecar is an excellent example of this.
INGREDIENTS
- 45ml Cognac or Brandy (1.5 oz)
- 22.5ml Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur (0.75 oz)
- 7.5ml Dry Curacao (0.25 oz)
- 22.5ml Fresh Lemon Juice (0.75 oz)

Very classy production! I just returned from Paris where a cheeky local bartender responded to my query for a Martini with serving me a French Martini. That turned out to have nothing to do with a classic Martini, as I found out, however I was pleasantly surprised at the fruity freshness of the drink, so I rushed to place my order for a bottle of Chambord as soon as I returned home and today I finally made my own French Martini! Great way to discover a new cocktail! :)

Hey Steve, Love the channel! My wife and I just recently found it and can't stop watching. You mentioned a Chambord Sidecar in this one, we have another drink that was inspired by a sidecar that I wanted to share. 2 parts (120 ml) of spiced rum ( we use costco's spiced rum or sailor jerry) 1 part (60 ml) orange curacao 1 part (60 ml) fresh lemon juice 1 part (60 ml) 1:1 simple syrup Shaken over ice and strained into a martini glass with a lemon rubbed rim, and coated in a 2 : 1 : .5 mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. If you try it out let me know what you think! Thank you for all the great ideas and the entertainment, we really appreciate it!

Steve, when my wife and I were dating she worked at a bar owned by a friend of ours. They had a drink (typically served there as a shot) which was 2 parts Chambord, 1 part DiSaronno, 2 parts pineapple juice. She still drinks it now either on ice or shaken/strained into a martini glass. I don’t know if it was created at that bar, or borrowed from somewhere/someone else, but I’ve never seen it anywhere else. At that bar it was called “Sex At My House”.

This channel is great! Im not usually successful with my cocktails. The recipes I find don't specify type of fruit juice (fresh, concentrate etc). I also have trouble understanding if and when cheap spirits can be used instead of expensive ones. Im thinking for some cocktails an expensive brand might give a better result. Its also helpful to have recipes that use brands I have access to!

The sponsor was Martell. The recipe as follows. 45ml Martell (Or what ever you have) 15ml Chambord 45ml Cranberry Squeeze of Lime. Shake over ice and fine strain into coupe. I have had this on menus in the past and sells reasonably well. Check it out, see what you think. Cheers.

Hey Steve, as always a major fan of your channel and of what you do, I was wondering that you could include in one of your videos an explanation on the difference between Chambord, Creme de Casis and Creme de Mure. for some people these may be the same but are they? love and greetings!

Chambord is black raspberry, Creme de Casis is black currant, and Creme de Mure is blackberry. All are sweet liqueurs. Chambord is a trademarked brand and the others are generic terms. I'm not sure if there are any other black raspberry liqueurs on the market but there are multiple companies producing Creme de Casis and Creme Mure so sweetness may vary depending on the manufacturer. You could probably sub one for the other without too much fiddling around with ratios but the flavours will differ as they're made from different fruits. I hope that helps.

A Bramble is also a good choice even if it was originally created with creme de mure :)

Thank you Sarah! I appreciate that :-) I’ve had at least 100+ companies reach out to sponsor videos but to date I’ve only worked with 3 of them..
