    So for anyone wanting an update I scrolled back to Feb 2020 on her Instagram and this is the only update I found from her: “the mother plant is starting to grow new leaves. The propagations with stems all have been sold, but I assume they're doing well since I haven't gotten any messages to the contrary (;) the single leaf cutting also rooted.”

    I was given a Hoya Kerrii 6 years ago as a single leaf - I watered it often and after 4 years sprung up and now has over a dozen leaves. I've been given another two years ago and yet to see it grow but I bet it will. thanks for the video - very helpful

    I have a Hoya Kerrii that is probably 7 years old. This is the first year that it bloomed! Happy about that. After watching your video I took a leap of faith and cut off two very long vines with several double leaf joints. I am going to try all 3 of your methods. Thanks for this video.

  • @MyWastelessLife

    @MyWastelessLife

    3 жыл бұрын

    ooh that's a hard question to answer coz i have rotted nodes in every medium. If it has roots i would do the perlite method or leca if you have it, but it's the same process, or just do direct soil but do not put in ziploc bag. it will take longer with direct soil but less chances of rot, at least in my experience, and i think giving it more humidity will just increase the chances of rotting if it's just a node.

    It should be fine, just keep the moss moist esp at the beginning, tho TBH the only time I move from water to moss is when there's some root growth already. Usually I would switch from moss to water when the moss is not working out for the cuttings

    I've a single leaf Hoya kerrii, at my front sun facing room.. So it gets bright light from 8-6 (No direct sunlight), i water it whenever it's top soil is dried out.. Still kept in the sponge and soils that came as it is.. Bit scared if i tried removing the sponge it might damage the plant... Everything was goin pretty well for 3-4 months, but now dark black spots are appearing on the back side of the hoya kerri, dark kinda like the type when u leave a marker on a paper and it makes a spot type... What went wrong? Any idea?

  • @MyWastelessLife

    @MyWastelessLife

    4 жыл бұрын

    My Hoya Kerri has those black spots as well, and it's likely coz it's getting too much light, so those black spots are leaf burn. Since you're not overwatering, your Hoya should be fine in it's current medium. I haven't repotted my Hoya Kerri mother plant or any of my hoyas really coz hoyas don't like getting their root system disturbed so repotting might just do more harm than good.

    I got my single leaf Kerrii from Costa plants. They do have roots.... I'm waiting on it to grow. I understand that the single leaf will eventually die, but by then the plant should have a stem and leaves. If you put an LED grow light over top the plant it should produce nodes that are closer together .
