Great points! I am in perimenopause and although I have accepted the fact that the lack of joy and motivation is part and parcel of this stage of life, I YEARN to get my life back! It feels like my life has been put on PAUSE. I want to socialize again, I want to have passion for my job again, I want to have adventures in travel again, and I want to SMILE again! Perimenopause/menopause is a thief! I want my life back! God Bless all going through this right now. Pray we will come out of it soon. XOXO

It’s very hard to get things done when your motivation disappears. I am finding this very frustrating and at other times I feel quite apathetic.

I know what you mean but sometimes, it's good to go with the flow, I used to enjoy my down days (in a perverse sort of way) as it meant I wasn't forever chasing my tail and it was good to get a rest! Best Wishes Eileen

This is my most debilitating symptom right now. I am spending money trying to make the boredom to go away. I honestly thought it was pandemic burnout, which I also have. I am bored, restless. This is all new for me. I am usually have lots going on & I am never restless. I am getting angry at the people around me because it's like Groundhog Day. Same story over and over again. I have told friends their issues have been going on since their twenties. I can't listen to it anymore. It is annoying, lol. Thank you for this talk. It has really helped me.

I'm struggling with this at the moment..I think for me it's because my periods are starting to be a bit erratic and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I also have the flu and I sliced my finger badly whilst chopping vegetables today so I feel down and just awful. My lovely husband and dog are wonderful though and that's what's helping me to keep smiling. Thank you Eileen Wonderful info as always ❤

I am post menopausal and one of the hardest thing I find to deal with is fatigue. I was always a very active person. I was more irritable and angry than low but there are a few low days here and there. I feel like a different person and I am not sure I like the new me but am trying. Lol. I take 300mg of Saint John's Wort twice daily and find this calms the demons. Lol. I think low days are part of life, as long as they don't stick around, that is the main thing. I know all this is part and parcel of this time of life but it is still difficult at times. My doctor once said to me that menopause is a natural progression and I replied "so is death, hope it is quicker and not as miserable as this ride has been". Lol Thanks Eileen for all your help. Take care of yourselves ladies and thanks to Eileen we are not alone in this! :) :)

Oh my gosh! I couldn't believe it when I watched this video--I felt like it was talking exactly about me. I am perimenopausal (maybe about 3 years-I had a hysterectomy with ovaries left in so it's hard to tell how far along it is). A month ago, I decided I was fed up feeling like life was passing me by--spending everyday the same way (wake up, go to work, cook, go to sleep). My husband had found an online community that he spends almost all day on during weekends, and I have been feeling so lonely, bored, and frustrated. So I decided to just go out myself and explore a different part of my local area every other weekend or when I feel like it. It has made such a huge difference in my mood and outlook. It's like finding hidden gems I never knew were there, and I've been able to meet really interesting people. I still struggle with frustration and depression with home and work sometimes with the hormone fluctuation but overall I feel like I have something to look forward to, and I feel closer to my overall community. I really appreciate your videos, Ms. Eileen! They really help me through this difficult time, and my husband often watches or listens to them with me--so I have more support now too. :)

Hi That does seem a long time! If you're still getting symptoms so long after periods have stopped or they are getting worse, it is wise to see your doctor. Other health issues can appear in the menopause and prolong the symptoms such as vitamin D or B12 deficiency, anaemia, thyroid imbalance, diabetes and heart disease. These can all cause symptoms that are identical to menopause ones so your doctor can test for these just to rule them out. Best Wishes Eileen

Yes, I can relate to all of this. I’m not myself and I don’t like it. I’ve been getting hormone replacement (pellets for Testosterone and Estrogen) for over a year. The struggle of the dr getting the levels right for me has been hard. Hoping my new Dr can help. 🙏🏻 (I had a parcel hysterectomy about 6 years ago.)

My thoughts exactly! During my post menopause l dreamt about what l wished for, wanted to do, and just went with the flow & so on & so forth. Even though l was experiencing symptoms both mentally & physically l never stopped this mindset the entire time. I went back to nature and became a vegetable gardener and this filled my life with immense joy growing my food. The post menopause period didn’t last long for me and l have reached at the other end of it.
