Here's how you do tai-otoshi against an opposite-sided player as well as two variations to use against a similar-sided player.

Overall very good instructional video. I will say however to anyone trying these techniques, be absolutely sure the knee on the leg being used to block and trip the uki is bent downward. I speak from experience on this. If the knee is kept straight the uki can fall across the knee and cause severe damage. I blew out my ACL by keeping my knee straight. Major pain still today after 10 years since it happened.

Same. Aggravates me beyond belief when I see BJJ instructors teach this throw to people who never train judo or understand how to pull.

Solid thing to point out. Cant you blow out the person's knee that is getting thrown too, depending on where your leg makes contact?

My favorite throw. Bending & snapping straight the trip leg against the opponents shin should be emphasized more. This assists in lifting the opponents supporting leg off the mat or ground.

We did not go too much into the grip variations, good variety. Philosophicaly judo is not a visual sport. It is orally transmitted Martial art. Good job. It could be done well by a blind person.😮

why can't you the one sided tai otoshi not with opposite opponent?

Korean tai otoshi requires.a much deeper turn in. With same aide grips, you can be prevented from turning in quite easily off of standard grips. One handed and no handed tai otoshi doesn't work without space.
