    you seem to really know what you are doing and what you are talking about when it comes to arcade stuff, great video, there is a topic or 2 that you may want to explore and speak about in future videos: 1. the different shapes of the restrictors (the circular, octagonal and square) their affect in fighting games vs their affect in lets say run and gun or platform games 2. dead zones, for example the precision of different branded levers and the extra space they may have after the microswitch has clicked, the pros and cons etc.

    Hey! I am looking forward to see your video about restrictor gates! Most of the people prefer octogonal ones (for obvious reasons) but others say that squared ones are better. Waiting to see your point of view in this matter! Nice video! :))

  • @LodanZark

    @LodanZark

    Obvious reasons? How so? The reason the square gate it's the standard gate it's more balanced and easier to hit diagonals since has the same percentage distance between all directions while octo gate does not, more info: www.slagcoin.com/joystick/restrictors.html

    Orlando Vieira everyone uses those pictures, but i think those pictures are not correct, because SQUARE doesnt have the same distance to all directions, for [square]the center to a corner is longer than center to a side, the octagon gate actually has All the same distance to all directions, i am going to look in to it abit more, because i feel those diagram are kinda misleading, even tho i have seen them 10 years ago. but i am going to explain it more in my video ❤️🙏

    If you're confident with your ball/bat top colour then use sparse amount of blue Loctite 242 threadlocker on the base of the threads. You will need rubber/leather to protect the top shaft before clamping down with pliers or channel locks to change-out the ball top.

    good review and good alternative to the standard Sanwa JLF, but it seems like a hassle.. especially if I go to my local once a week, I don't have the patience to do this every time... I rather wait for phreakmods link ex groove! it doesn't come off too easily but if you need to it comes off in one piece without any screwing or tightening. Whenever I travel or go anywhere with my fight stick I always worry about the lever getting messed up, or it messing something up in my bag. A detachable shaft is a no brainer for me. I saw the reviews and got discouraged. No offense but after watching your video and seeing how is it made, people are just dumb man. You could technically tighten the ball top to the shaft hard enough (or use superglue as someone else stated) that if you went to remove it like a regular ball top, everything would come out in pretty much one piece. I'm definitely buying a detachable JLF now Edit: Nevermind I just found the Phreakmods EX-Groove link quick release JLF shaft and I'm happy

    Hey JoystickNY, I want to thank you for all your videos. They are all awesome! I have a question that can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I installed a sanwa jlf into my hori rap4. When I put on the sanwa jlf shaft cover on the stick, it is too long. It actually goes above the threads. I shaved off a few mm of the length of the shaft cover so it will perfectly but now my stick feels a bit more restrained. Do you know what's wrong? I noticed in your sfv trial tutorials it seems like you don't use a shaft cover? I also see that you still use a dust cover but wouldn't it be loose without a shaft cover for your rap4? Please help. I may end up not using a shaft cover at all. I just like the look and feel of shaft cover though. Thanks!! This was long!

  • @JoystickNY

    @JoystickNY

    4 жыл бұрын

    Good observation, you actually dont need to use a shaft cover, it makes the shaft bulkier for no reason, it is mainly used in the arcades to prevent people from breaking the lever. You have the options to remove it, but you are right, after u remove the shaft cover, the dust cover washer becomes lose because there is more room in the middle. You just need to get dust cover that has a smaller hole, there are 2 of them, 1 for the naked shaft; one to use with a shaft ❤️ hope that helps

    Hey, JoystickNY. I enjoy watching your videos. They're very helpful. At 6:14, you say that the silent jlf version- other than the high tension version- has the same tension as a standard jlf lever. But on the ISTMall website they say it's more softer than the standard. Are you for certain that they have the same tension? I'd sure love a verification as I'm seeking to purchase a lower tension one. They're apparently restocking on those this week. Thanks in advance!

    Hello my friend, I just bought an arcade stick and I had a question. With the washer are you supposed to be able to move it up and down the lever? Or is it supposed to be tight and secure at the base without being able to move it? I feel as though mine is faulty. Thx in advance.

  • @JoystickNY

    @JoystickNY

    4 жыл бұрын

    Faizan Sheikh hey great question, the washer comes in 2 sizes, 1 smaller size that fits with the shaft, and 1 bigger size that will fit with the shaft cover. Its suppose to slide up and down freely, its just to block off dust, but if you are using the bigger hole cover with the metal shaft, then you can see extra space around the circle, then you need to find the washer with smaller hole, let me know if you have more questions ❤️🙏
