Not in my experience. The first house in the richest part of our neighborhood had a sweet older lady that nearly filled my son’s whole bag with name brand candy theater style boxes. Even gave all of us frozen chocolate peanut butter bananas! I hope she is still giving candy this year.

Not in my experience,I live in what ppl would consider “the rich” neighborhood and my kids get insane candy from the houses on our cul de sac,guess it just all depends on where and who is giving out

I ALWAYS buy, and hand out, the “good” candy; because I know if I have any leftover, it will be eaten by SOMEONE in the house!! 🤣🤣 I also buy “goldfish” or “animal crackers”, for the babies and toddlers; giving the parent a “choice” for their child. (MANY TIMES, the TEENS will opt for those over, “more chocolate”!!) It’s ALWAYS very much appreciated, and we NEVER get TP’d, egged, or have any other type of mischievous actions/vandalism, toward our house!! Respect, and understanding your “guests”, goes a looong way!!!! (BTW, we live in a middle-class neighborhood). ✌🏼❤️❤️

Depends on how old or fit the adult is, it's not out of the question that they would be able to outrun someone older.

There’s also the fact that an adult walking briskly or even jogging is one thing, but a grown man running flat out is the most attention-arresting sight short of lights and sirens. Even if no one is around to actually see, most smarter pedos/killers would feel inhibited about sprinting around in suburbia unless they were 110% certain they weren’t being observed. A man jogging in a kid’s general direction is sketchy looking, but a fast-thinking man could talk his way out of that with a bit of luck. Someone sees a 230lbs guy charging full-speed towards a kid? That’s a no-brainer 911 call. It’s not always about physical constraints. Successful predators are cautious predators. Plausible deniability saved the Green River Killer at four, count them four, body in the back seat or trunk police stops.

My knees would definitely let kids outrun me by more than enough to go hide somewhere. But surely bad guys with bad knees would know better than to go chasing after kids 😜

@@uptownnga there are just context clues about the setting he is trying to paint that are a dead giveaway that the story isn't true or he doesn't know facts about the setting that he would if he wasn't making it up. Like when a child tries to set a story in the 80s but doesn't know that a vcr is not called a vhs player. The author didn't go to college because his description of how the town was is not how college towns are. They're never empty, they're never quiet and even if the kids are gone it's still a fully functional town with it without the kids. If he actually was there he'd have the setting correct
