3 TIPS to Create beautiful Mixed Media Landscape Paintings
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I received a question this past week about how to find your way out of a muddy, messy painting. Today, I make a complete mess in my sketchbook and pull it together into a mixed media landscape painting using acrylic paint and watercolor crayons.
I’ll show you some tips on how to get out of the mud...and why the messy middle isn't really a bad thing.

Great information. Beautiful intuitive painting.
You explain it all so well. I’ve needed this! Been stuck in a rut with my style. So inspirational!
Great art coming out from the muddy mess 👌 😊
Awesome tutorial!
Omg I love it 😀
Is that a DIY stay wet palette over to the right I see? Looks like maybe a butcher thingy with a wet shop towel, and then a layer of some kind of paper… I really appreciate the way you describe and narrate your process - sharing the inner workings - it’s inspiring, and helps me think and see a bit differently than usual, thank you!

Hi! It is a homemade palette. Lunch tray, blue shop paper towels from the hardware store (I think these are Scott). I do two layers with two paper towels in each layer. I get about a month out of them. Then a piece of deli paper on top. You can get a huge stack of deli paper cheap on Amazon. If I have left over paint I just stick the palette in a drawer and the paint lasts a couple days so I can use it to paint again.
I had an instructor say "Paintings are like teenagers. They go through the uglies!" Ha!
