Thank you Mr. Bill for another great "common sense" video with lots of hard earned knowledge included. You have encouraged me to start fishing the small ponds I find while hiking the back woods of Washington State. Thanks again.

Thanks for the information Mr Bill maybe I can find some gravel pits or stock ponds to fish in with a cane pole most of the lakes here in central Arkansas have alligators in them now and I am not to crazy about keeping company with alligators.

yep they wiped them out and PETA brought them back, just as my father in the 1920's wiped out the wolves in SW Nebraska, but PETA brought them back-- blue gill dumped this fall, can in two years give you hundreds of bull gill to catch and for centuries to come of control fishing

When I first moved to Florida I couldn't figure out why everybody stopped fishing at dusk, and eventually I realized it wasn't because of the mosquitoes.

If you tie the line to some tubular elastic then to the pole you can land bigger fish. Over here in Europe people use poles to catch carp up to 20lb

@@wildwarneroutdoors3446 its not really a cane pole they would be using carbon fibre poles $3000+ 25ft+ tubular elastic on the end 8lb line. But the same principle would work with a cane pole

best to ask your local fishermen for equipment ideas, as they change some in different areas, or ask at a sporting goods store, keep in mind though cheap works -- black widow pole-- I have a 10 foot and a 12 foot-- with about 7 foot of braided line, 12 pound-- here a person can use 2 hooks, so I tie them about 5 inches apart- this so you don't get hooked by the top if taking off fish on the bottom-- as for hooks, I like small but heavy hooks-- lost fish to thin hooks- good luck

I do not, also harder for fish teeth to cut - have gone to long shank small hooks- so hook swallowed can be gotten out without killing the fish if at all possible- catch and release

HOOKS: use 2x STRONG, they will not straighten out, or use FORGED hooks.
