    [Unspoken Rules Guide for taking Buses] 1. Queue up when entering the bus (if it's very crowded then it's a free-for-all) 2. Enter by the front, sometimes during peak hours the bus get very full until the bus captain only allows baording from the rear door and has to switch the card device's mode. 3. Move to the back of the bus especially if you're the first few to board, applies to peak hours. If the bus is relatively empty, sure, hang out at the wheelchair area for standing. 4. Occupy the INNER Seat and don't use your bag to occupy the OUTER seat, if you're concerned about alighting while sitting inside, just say 'excuse me' to the person sitting outside and they'll let you pass. 5. Ring the bell ONCE & EARLY. Why press a 2nd time when you can clearly see the "STOPPING" sign lit up? [Unspoken Rules Guide for taking MRT] 1. Keep left on escalators and travelators, if you slow, you keep left on the heavy vehicles lane! Let the fast walkers run by. 2. Please give way to alighting passengers before boarding. I often see uncle and aunties rushing in first just to get a seat, but they block all the people exiting, so do they even deserve their seats? 3. Avoid playing music or watching video without your earphones, if you can afford a phone, why you cannot get an earphone? Many people wants a quiet journey after a long day at work or school. 4. MOVE IN to the centre of the cars especially during peak hours. 5. BAGS DOWN if you have a large bag especially 6. Sitting down? If the train is quite empty, leave a space in between seats for comfort. e.g. 1010101 Probably alot more unspoken rules or what I call: petpeeves, feel free to let me know your thoughts as well 🤣

    I don't like and don't understand the escalator fast lane concept/rule, especially morning rush hours (such as Kent ridge mrt). Actually low efficiency in terms of volume and dangerous. If you are really rush, why not use stairs.

  • @dashingheights

    From what I understand, it's the "norm" to not block others who wants to go ahead. Taking the stairs is a lot more tiring than the escalator though

    Actually it's a good idea! It's a falling hazard to be running on the escalator. I even saw a clip where someone lost grip on his luggage downriding on the escalator and it injured people riding below.

  • @dashingheights

    @dashingheights

    6 ай бұрын

    Yes! any seat you are sitting on is reserved for you. What I meant in the video is, if one is sitting on the colored seats and theres someone who may be more in need, it will be good to offer the seat to them. I heard that pregnant mothers carrying a baby in her tummy is a lot of hard work, so personally I will want to let them take my seat. THOUGH... sometimes it could be difficult to differentiate who is pregnant

    That's correct! there isn't a demarcation or indication of it. In Singapore people usually stand on the left and walk on the right. i was making an analogy similar to driving on the road, which is right lane is overtaking lane :) So it's more of an "Unsaid" social norm
