    I’m in premiere pro, exporting using the preset KZread 4k and that’s it 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hope it helps!! It’s only a guide, i love the 91+ method, ideally you should always get your shot right in camera but atleast with the zebras you know what is salvageable and what isn’t

    @@DannyBligh ye, I will have to try out the zebras, it seems fairly fail safe. A cool video would be how to go from downloading a lut, to knowing how to put it into your editing program and tweaking it. Same with video overlays

    The most accurate way to convert an image’s color space is with the color space transform inside Davinci resolve .

    Thank you for this! What would you suggest for vlogging, where I am filming myself or my surroundings and the lighting can potentially change? I don’t want to keep having to adjust my light meter or the like to target that plus 1-2.0 number.

    I normally go with the zebra method when i’m out filming. Find that threshold, bring the exposure back by a 1/3 of a stop or maybe 2/3 and then go for it. If the exposure changes then just reach up and change the exposure using a vnd. It’s a vlog, they are meant to be a little rough ☺️

    Hello Danny - youtube sent me your channel and you got a sub from me - I hate Slog 2 - I've been trying over the past 2 yrs - even made a video about Slog 2 settings - for the time I spent to bring out dynamic range I could just shoot in Standard color - your video is simple to understand and I will try again! Thx for the video! Keep Youtubing!

    I was the exact same! And I always shot with the expose so wrong, i was useless 😂 the 91+ method (for slog3) or 103+ for slog2 works really well. Sure you could still overexpose your image but atleast your know what’s recoverable and what isn’t and you can always pull down the exposure later. It’s not 100% perfect but it’s a good guide. Let me know how you get on!!

    Definitely not afraid to admit, I put off using log footage for a long time 😂😂 what’s the one other thing you was ‘scared ‘of trying?

    Random question. Can you test what happens to A7RV rolling shutter if you use clear image zoom? Because crop mode has way worse rolling shutter than full frame. ,🤔

    Sure, i can take a look mate!! See what I can gather. Not sure how/why that is, i’m no genius with these sensors but we can look!

  • @henakos

    @henakos

    @@DannyBligh That's because crop mode uses about 6k and downsanples. Full frame 4k60 uses pixel binning, thats why there is not that much rolling shutter.

    @@henakos ahhhh gotcha! That makes sense to me. Side note; a lot of people keep bringing up the rolling shutter which I don’t disagree with. But then I sit and watch tv or films and see so much rolling shutter still 😂😂 sometimes I wonder whether we are too fixated on it

    @@DannyBligh I see rolling shutter everywhere. 🤦 I hate that I learned what is rolling shutter. 😃 Before I didn't notice that there is something wrong. 😅

    I think that "normal" people can't see rolling shutter or dynamic range or anything else. They see if the image is good or bad, they don't know why it's good or bad.
