Logan does provide some good tips. And I was excited about his "nicer" 3x4 sander for "a couple of hundred dollars" until I checked its price -- $576 as of today (Nov 28, 2023). No thanks, I don't own a cabinetry shop where it would get daily use. The Festool would quality as a "couple of hundred dollar" candidate though.

You can get pads for the Bosch. And it has one of the best dust extraction of any sanders. Ok, it is not powerful like a plug-in, but for a hand sander, it is definitely not a "big box" typical sander. I understand your point, but wrong "not to get" sander as an example.

Totally agree. I have this Bosch sander and while not being super high-end, it’s definitely above box store quality.

How does this compare to the Festool sanders?

Been doing all that for years and I still hate sanding.

sanding a necessary part of the build. I don't mind it.
