Some people took cheap loads for gas to get to another load. It's always going to be someone with a different biz model that'll piss others off.

Are you guys still out there making a profit? I'm a relatively new MC and it's difficult, I have an employee driver and insurance and truck payment are insane. Brokes won't give me loads because my MC is under 6 months old and the loads are mostly too cheap anyways. Trying to figure out how to survive without losing 5-6k a month.

Yea we're still profiting but we don't have the overhead that you have. It's rough all over right now. When you find a good load stay in touch with that broker. Also go to some local warehouses in your area and see if they need help moving shipments. You may benefit from furniture or appliance deliveries but your driver will need a helper. But the work will be consistent. Best of luck to you.

What are the insurance requirements for most brokers to work with a carrier?

Is this a full load or partial load? Why can you catch something that’s going that way and catch something coming back?

It's a dedicated load. Pick up is at 8:30a so it would be hard to find something that I would be able to drop off and then make the pick up time that morning. But that should be the goal.

I think it's more so the engine and transmission versus the make of the truck. We recommend Cummins engine Allison transmission.

I applied 2 days before the change do you think it's going to effect my approval?

You'll have to find load on load boards like, DAT, Truckstop, 123 Loadboard. Rates aren't good right now. You can look into contract work like mattress firm, rooms to go, lowes, home depot.
