The truth it that those scales actually cost $5 bucks to make. Leatherman stuff is always overpriced.

Fun stuff. I just got my Roxon Flex. As expected it has skyrocketed to my favorite multitool. I’ve already modded my scissors to allow for carrying 4 long implements. I’m actually carrying a SOG power pint and a leatherman ratchet driver with ball detent bits as my bit driver to go along with the Flex.

This would be perfect if it had a large file on the outside 4. Or maybe a T grip adapter on one of the outside 4.

I’ve been using the titanium version in my edc. I wonder if there was enough room to change out the existing file or micro screwdriver and use that space for a t grip adapter.

I've been looking for a daily carry multitool for a while now and DL7 felt like the right choice. When it arrived I felt disappointed, it just didn't feel right quality wise, maybe it was this particular unit. I've returned it and got myself a Vic. Spirit X which I found for half the price new - now this one seems perfect for edc, especially that I don't need the clip. Coming back to DL7, I have a Mossy Oak tool with a quarter inch driver that locks in 2 positions, that one feels rugged and has proven itself great for minor house tasks. Only two downsides here are weight (around 350g without the bits) and lack of scissors. Bottom line is that if the scales are almost the price of the whole tool and you double it's value by modding it, it does become a bit senseless from the economic standpoint. But then again your making videos for a bunch of folks who "need" more than one edc knife and multiple multitools just for the sake of it - there's no place for economy in this hobby.

Errrm... 42$ for 4 pieces of plastic? Manufacturing cost is probably around a quarter of a cent. You surely have to be an enthusiast to buy those. 🤭

Just save a little more and buy a Leatherman. Life time warranty and best quality. This is so copied but you'll probably end up being another one when it fails and it will cost the same. I've had the Leatherman Charge TTI for 4 years now and ours still flawless.
