3 Overlooked Passages that Point Toward the Restoration of All Things (Apokatastasis)

Jesus speaks about the “renewal of all” in Matthew 19:28, Peter speaks of the “restoration of all” in Acts 3:21, and Paul writes about the “reconciliation of all” in Colossians 1:20…
However, these passages are barely known let alone taught about in the Western Church.
Why? Because perhaps they directly challenge the presuppositions and assumptions of what the Gospel is, and how many people’s understanding of the faith is focused on tribalism and destruction… which isn’t really Good News, anyways.
After feeling confined and not allowed to talk about these passages and ask questions about them, I decided to do my own self-study… and what I discovered was marvelous and beautiful.
So I made my discovery into a video series. A number of the videos are already up for FREE as a taster, the rest just take the content deeper and further. I sincerely hope you are intrigued to get the rest and to find yourself liberated into a better understanding of the Good News.
Grace and Peace, Y’all.

I've been hearing this idea of eventual salvation of all for some years now, and have been unsure. Today l have come here from The Total Victory of Christ, chnl., Proof Jesus was a Universalist, in my own crucible; l think l am ready to accept the argument because the other "gospels" don't actually sound like "good news" to me, more like bad news actually, like maybe a 90% failure rate. I don't think l can have peace or confidence with any thing less than a God who can and will make all things right. Thanks for making the argument, much appreciated.

Sadly there are preachers who cannot or will not acknowledge verses/ passages that state anything that challenges their doom and gloom theology where most people eventually end up outside of God's wonderful salvation ! Recently I watched a rather depressing video titled 'Does God Literally Desire All to be Saved ?' . The scripture being addressed was 1 Tim 2: 3-4 and the channel is called Stand to Reason. This video was posted 5 years ago and has been viewed more than 15000 times .

In Ephesians 1:8-10, we are told that it is God’s good pleasure and intention to gather up all things in Christ, both in heaven and in earth. This is the idea set forth in Irenaeus’ ‘recapitulation atonement’. That is that all that goes wrong in Adam is recapitulated, summed up, gathered up into Christ, both things and heaven and in the earth. (In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth). There is nothing outside this cosmic scope of gathering into. All things recapitulated through the cosmic person and work of Christ.

In my experience, when these passages have been explained or touched on, it has always been with the caveat that they refer ONLY to those who have believed, who are “in Christ”. Perhaps the passages you are teaching would threaten a world where “easy grace” means lawlessness? What you are teaching brings great hope, but what can we say about Jesus’ words, “Depart from me, I never knew you?” To me, the most frightening words in scripture. Thank you John, I am trying to figure this out.

@thestraightroad305 it’s a KZread segment. There is a KZread channel called unrelenting love filled with Christians who hold this hope and Brian Zahnd is one. He has a short talk called “mercy in the words I never knew you”. I like to think of the second death as the passing away of the old man similar to Paul’s teaching where we have been crucified with Christ and it’s no longer us but Christ who lives in us. Anyway, I liked what Brian had to say as it relates to what you mentioned. Check it out when you can. Peace

I would fault the 'system' of Pastor, seminary, laity, in that it breeds conformity of whatever denomination is teaching, is oblivious to 'xtra' stuff that doesn't aline with them. This is why this system must be abandoned an go to the 'house church' model with no leader, (Holy Spirit will lead) to find and 'see' the truth of God.

IMHO, The restoration of all things also means the destruction of all evil, evil inclinations, evil desires, deceptions, and that would mean that Satan, a liar and murderer from the beginning, would have to be destroyed and eliminated. After all, there is no indication that satan is actually a being created in God's image, and it is the Fathers image and reputation and great name that will be restored. Hence, the destruction of evil is part of the restoration process. That is the purpose of God's holy fire referenced as the lake of fire - destroy the evil that has deceived humanity so humanity will be saved. Just as the wheat cannot grow and mature without the chaff, which is then separated and the chaff is destroyed, so it is with the evil that causes humanity to grow and mature.

Speaking hypothetically, if Ha-satan (the accuser) is redeemed he will be restored to what he had been made in God’s goodness. This would include all of the divine council (Ps 82). But they will all bend their knees to Jesus (Phil 2)
