3 Most Iconic Foods of West Virginia (WV FOOD TOUR)
Looking for the most well-known foods that come from West Virginia? The three most popular, according to many resources online, are the West Virginia Slaw Dog, Biscuits and Gravy, and Pepperoni Rolls. While there is more food that calls West Virginia home like pawpaws, black walnuts, ramps, and even soup beans (beans, ham, and cornbread), the three we decided to hunt for and try are well known all over the state! You’ll find us at Hillbilly Hotdogs, Tudor’s Biscuit World (which is a chain, but it originated in WV), and the Pepperoni Grill.

So southern wv does mariniara but northern westvirgnia does hotdog sauce and ONLY olivarios peppers Loved the vid!
Pepperoni Rolls have had legal problems with The Department of Agriculture which wanted to reclassify bakeries that sell pepperoni rolls as meat processing plants subjecting them to daily inspections inadvertently making them too costly to sell. A meeting with Jay Rockefeller, US Senator of WV and Richard Lyng, Secretary of Agriculture led to a special exemption for pepperoni rolls. Pepperoni rolls were also used in military MREs in the early 2000s. In the late 2000s, pepperoni rolls were added to the "First Strike Ration" that focused on small, light yet nutrient packed rations for 72 hour patrols.
From West Virginia, like 10 minutes away from Hillbilly hotdogs 🌭. I swear what makes our ordinary food so good is the luv. You really do feel comfort in it. And everybody is weirded by Hillbilly hotdogs 🤣🤣🤣 it's the point. They r just having with the West Virginia stereo types. And u guys were in Mothman Country at Hillbilly hotdogs. You were about a 15 min drive from where the bridge collapsed that started the legend. Hope u guys got to see it.

You have to add pepper to the biscuits and gravy you certainly Miss some places that are outstanding. Sorry you did not have a great experience. Next time you are in WV let me no.

The hillbilly dog is a Coney dog. I think I'll be visiting hillbilly hotdogs though. Looks delicious

@@austinsatterfield6792please rewatch the video @ 2:35 they say the the hillybilly hotdog is #1 on the menu. The restaurant is called hillbilly hotdogs and they have a hotdog of the same name on the menu. I was simply pointing out that the hotdog is classically known as a Coney dog.
Biscuits and gravy isnt great at Tudors!
Don’t feel bad. I’m from Huntington and I’m not a fan of biscuits and gravy either. I prefer a good jam or some honey butter with my biscuits. That Tudor’s Biscuit World you went to on Route 60 was the best Wendy’s in the world when I was a kid (around the time of the “Where’s the Beef?” Ads).
It’s not Chili it’s hotdog sauce there’s a difference
