all you’re saying sounds so similar to my experience I had here! (I am currently in North Carolina and exchange student from Germany lol) but what I also noticed that my thoughts really play with my head sometimes I think about conversations with German friends in English which is totally wild when I notice hahah! greetings from nc :)
I wanted to scroll through the comments then I realized that I’m way too early for that lmao hahah
As a nature lover and someone who cares about the environment, I would say Sweden is definitely miles above America when it comes to the environment. I would also say the health care and education system is better in Sweden.

Molly Kissel I disagree we have a larger population and America has the two biggest oceans on both sides so other country’s junk washes up on the American shore and then the Americans are the ones to be often blamed even tho it’s most likely not our trash.

Grant Williams I just think that since the US is a lot larger than Sweden is, that means our nature is also a lot more diverse. I live in Florida and there a forests like a mile away from the beach - it’s insane how much the scenery can change throughout a 5 minute drive😂 (also, about the trash washing up on oceans - I don’t think I’ve ever seen that where I live. Is it common where you live?😬)

Agreed. I don't understand why a Swedish person would want to even go to America unless she's cold...but then she could just go elsewhere where it's hot.

My school had an exchange student from Spain my sophomore year and we became best friends. That was 5 years ago and we still talk and are really good friends. I love seeing your experience, it reminds me of her 🥰 glad you’re having a good time!!
Can you elaborate on the things that you like/dislike about the US compared to Sweden? Like what things are in Sweden that aren't in the US?
ahhh im moving in 1 month & this makes me so excited 💜💜
You're so fortunate to be having an experience that's literally a "once in a lifetime" thing. Listening to your comments about boys, I'm regretting that I didn't grow up in Sweden. I took so many mini steps for so long, I'm surprised I ever ended up anywhere. Ultimately, I started catching on, but I still always thought that being too forward with girls was rude. Turns out, that's kind of what they expect (here in America). Anyway, you're very smart socially (and otherwise), so I'm sure *you* have things moving along at a pace that's comfortable for you. Oh, and maybe you shouldn't share any guy related stuff with "Goofy Guy". People share with their best friends, but secretly, I think he might cringe on the inside. ☺️ Glad your experience is going so well!
First off, I want to say that I LOVE your videos and i think you're adorable! I live here in the US, but I love learning about other cultures, so I think it's super interesting to hear your perspective and experiences living in a different country. Anyway, going off about what you said about your US friends, if the friendship is strong enough and both people are willing to put in the effort, any friendship can survive borders. I'm 28 now, but when I was 16, I met one of my best friends to this day, as she was an exchange student from Germany at my high school. Almost 13 years later and she's still one of my closest friends. These days it's so easy to keep in contact with people...we text, Facetime, and Skype all of the time. And we send each other little packages. She comes back every couple of years to visit, and I'm in the process of planning trip to go see her! My point is, you will stay friends with the people you meet here, so long as you both put in the effort. :)

About the 'staying friends with your americans friends' thing :) I did a university exchange in Sweden 2 years ago. I am still friend with the people I was living with. Of course you won't stay in touch with all of them but I wouldnt worry about your close friends in America. 2 years later and we still write to eachother every now and then, we send each other birthday cards and letters. One of my friend actually came to visit me and he spent 2 weeks in Canada. It made me so happy. I am sure you'll stay friends with them and they also shouldn't worry. We stay close to the people we really deeply care about !

Highschool in America is most times like in the movies, there is definitely cliques, but I think that also depends on the school. Americans are also really big on highschool culture (I live in America lol) but mostly down south and the east coast and west coast, there’s a LOT of school spirit and stuff like that. It isn’t as bad as a lot of people claim it is, but again that depends on the school. Hope this somewhat helped answer your question :)

This is just my personal experience (I live in Florida), but it really depends on which classes you take, and what your teacher is doing at the time. There were some days where I’d only have one assignment (or none), and then other days where I’d come home from school and work on homework until 11:00 PM. It all just really depends on what’s going on at the time (which kinda sucks😂😩)

Nothing about america is better than Sweden. I have always said that i don't want to have kids because of how bad the education system is here. Public schools are terrible, private schools have a whole other set of issues, and homeschooling can be great but a lot of parents have their kids do it for all the wrong reasons. Kudos to kids growing up in america today. I don't know how you guys survive. It was certainly very different when i was in school, and i'm not even that old.

Why do so many people like you love to express their ignorance publicly? You just made an unsupported, sweeping statement about a country of over 300,000,000 people and 50 diverse states. If anything, you've only demonstrated your own ignorance and an inability to conduct evidence-based critical thinking. Assuming you are American, I suppose one could argue that you are evidence of the state of the American education system that you decry, except you are a single datum, which is not enough to draw any conclusions.
