That first tip is so true. I had a client with a budget of $300 for a party of 150. I took the time to educate them. They explained that this was their first party and they had no clue. Two days later, they increased the budget with no issues.

Girl… my cousin asked my mom to design a cupcake display for his event. He paid her for the work, but he posted it on Instagram as if it was his design. I was heated! I let him know that was not ok and she deserves her credit for her work, even though she doesn’t have social media (she’s in her 70’s) You don’t steal people’s work!

Hello Melanie, I have been a follower of yours for some time and I am not sure how I missed this video, but God's timing is perfect. I was recently sought out for a consultation for a wedding a little more than a month before said date. A lot of the elements were diy, and what she was asking for rang more like a child's party more so than an actual wedding (bride) while the groom wanted elegance. I am still a novice and felt like if I gave her what she wanted, it would not speak to the type of designer I want to be with regards to weddings, and the headaches because they were on such different pages with so little time. I did not take it, but wrestled with maybe I should have taken it to get myself going. Your wisdom and knowledge helped to alleviate that guilt and I just want to say thank you. Keep allowing God to use you and I look forward to watching more videos as I have in the past.

This was on point🙌🏽 Thank you so much for the nuggets and wisdom. I can definitely relate to everything you said. I was crushed when a designer told me I couldn’t have my dream wedding with my budget and then went on to say you can find someone cheaper but it won’t be elegant. So rude and very unprofessional. Collaboration: Just wanted to make sure I’m hearing you correctly. This will be my first collaboration. I was hired by the client to do balloons for her baby shower. She has a designer. Don’t post my balloon installation until the designer post the event and/or tag me?

Yes, that is generally the rule of thumb… But if you can’t wait, ask if you can post balloons only and give her credit as the designer and you credit as the balloon stylist.
