He had already locked up the number 1 contender spot but way delayed by having to wait for Moreno and Figgy to fight 4 times, so he had to beat up the rest of the division while he waited lol

Pantoja has been my favorite in this division ever since that one tuf season they brought in ALL 125pd champions from other organizations. I enjoy his style nonetheless

With Moreno , Pantoja just decides I will throw when you do but harder & it's more impactful when he lands. It's surprising Brandon hasn't adjusted to Alexandre successfully but Pantoja isn't afraid of his power at all so he just throws.

Him eating shots and walking them down to hit his shots must be so demoralizing for the Brandons. Pants got a granite chin on top of all his world class skills

I love that Pantoja is a great champion despite having sloppy striking. Gamefulness is king. That's why nobody fucks with tasmanian devils, wolverines, or people with damage. If someone is under a powerful drive from within they brwka rhythm, become unpredictable. Like when Henry Cejudo beat Marlon Moraes with a bunch of rights without any setup. He got angry and just beat the fuck out of him. Pantoja has that in every fight. Sloppy gamefulness plus elite grappling and a mature champion's mindset. I like his vibe a lot.

I love Pantoja, but if anything his last 2 defenses have shown that his tendency to load up early gives his opponents opportunities to take the late rounds. He does find a way to take them down, but they seem to be desperate takedowns for him to catch a breath. I think he might get one more title defense before losing it.
