3 Minute Step Test Timer

Performing the 3-Minute Step Test can be a challenge at times.
Demonstrate the steps.
Explain the pace.
Find the metronome.
Prepare the stopwatch.
I decided to create a video with a timer, the metronome (@96 BPM), a two minute reminder, a one minute reminder, a women's chart and a men's chart. The person administering the test can then focus more on the client and less on the gadgets.
Utilize this video from any device as needed. I have also included a downloadable copy on my website to put on your phone/tablet for times of no internet.

Thanks man, used this today as a workout, 5 rounds: 3 minute step, 1 minute ski erg and 1 minute planks!

Do you wait 1 minute after while sitting or do you check heart rate immediately after the 3 minutes?

the test as designed is 3 minutes. That is an industry standard.

Example: left up - 1, right up - 2, left down-3, right down-4…
do you record your heart rate straight after or a minute after ?

Leo Bingley hi! I counting, start as soon as you sit down. Count an entire minute and use that number in the charts. If using a heart rate monitor, use the value you see after one minute of sitting.
