3 Mineral Rich Volcanic Arcs in Australia
#volcaniceruptions #australia #gold #volcanoes #silver #copper #volcano
In this video we explore 3 ancient volcanic arcs in Australia that are enriched with valuable metals. From gold, to silver, copper and more, these volcanic arcs are in their discovery phase. And it is predicted that mining will take place (if it hasn't already) in areas like the Stavely Arc, which is hidden beneath sediments.

Yas! More exploring from mag/grav maps with you having educated guesses about origins and history etc.
This is a fantastically interesting video. I've just been to a school reunion in Orange, and you nicely explain why Mt Canobolas is there and why gold was discovered in the vicinity of Orange. Great work! Many thanks!
Bring on the series!
Dont worry, the Australian government will never tax it, so we'll just be stuck with the cleanups.

Cleanups? What are they? No mining company does those, even when it's part of the agreement. I used to work for one, got sent to an old mine to scratch around for low grade ore for a bit. I asked why bother. Basically if it is technically still active they don't have to pay to restore the land so they just poke around once in a while to delay it.
@darkhorseman8263

@buddhamack1491 Fracking wells need to be recapped every 10 years. Costs 100 grand to 2 million per well. So 100k+ wells × 1 mil or so per decade. They'll ship profits to primary company and pretend the subsidiary is bankrupt so tax payers handle it.
@darkhorseman8263

KZread shadow bans my comments about the ongoing costs of wells. Seems they are censoring for the fossil fuel industry now.

Interesting, Victoria may not be broke after all.
Those mountain ranges aren't classed as dead, dormant maybe but not dead. scientists and geologist aren't even sure themselves and many more years of research have to go into this discussion. As you said, Vic is very complex. Btw, love you vids!!

Great videos. One of the political parties in the New Zealand government is keen to start doing a lot more research on its mineral wealth. What areas in its volcanic arcs do you think are worth investigating?
@OzGeologyOfficial

This is a great question. The pink and white terraces were gold saturated but were never mined so the Taupo volcanic zone would be a great place to look.

Great video, as always. I am going to university this fall after finishing my associates and I have looked at geologic maps since middle school. I was always under the impression that geologic maps were for surface geology. Is that not what they are?

Can you tell us a little bit about the air basin and its formation as well as western and northwestern Australia and when it's connected to Madagascar And India and Africa please? I'm surprised that you guys in Australia haven't done this and set up a pipe from the southern Antarctic Ocean into the Air Basin and start pumping and just let it flow once the pumping starts the air pressure will push it water into the basin I will help cool down all of Australia Any endangered species that live there can be moved out for new to new area I know the air basin does flood like sometimes and forms racket water but brine shrimp thrive and Pelicans galore appear. the toughest part would be building the pipeline and setting it up so that the water flows into the pipeline and into the air basin and continues until there's equilibrium along the system As Australia never thought of that? Or I should say Australians? It might help to cool down Australia in those hot hot summers and then at least you'd have a somewhat Of a water supply that you can desalinate And used to fight fires and use for drinking water during serious drugs

Is the copper in sulphide ore form or native copper? I live in the Copper Country of Michigan, USA. This area has one of the largest native copper deposits in the world. It is part of the 1.1 billion year old Midcontinent Rift (MCR) in NA
