For the first one: I used to do it just like you said, the roll of yarn just laying on the sofa and falling down all the time (poor downstairs neighbors lol) To make it even faster I'm doing a makeshift "distance measurement" by sticking 2 poles into my bookshelf and wrap the rope between them to have many ropes :)

@@annabaginova01 I'm gonna ask. if you can help great... if not... thats OK too. I have a project using 5mm cord cut at 10'. I want to make same project using 2mm cord. I have no clue how to adjust cord cut lengths. is there a sorta simple way to estimate how long to cut cords?

@@debihinkle6100 This is always a bit tricky. As long as you won’t be changing the design (adding more cords, etc.) I think you can cut more or less the same length, maybe slightly shorter, like 10-20% less. But you need to know that if you are using thinner cords your finished piece will be smaller.
