Thanks for the video, Drew. I liked the tenon jig using the face of the original fence. One word of warning though regarding the use of the sled. You should not have the piece you're cutting off in contact with the fence as it goes through the blade. There is a high chance the loose piece will twist slightly, catch the blade and kick back at you. Try clamping a spacing block to the fence well ahead of the blade and use that as the reference to determine the length of your cut, that way the loose piece won't get caught between fence and blade.

Nice to see a woodworking video without all the free tools! Looks like you finally made the algorithm, so good work and keep it up! I am not normally the safety police, but as someone that's been hit by kickback before, there were several cringe worthy cuts in there. Run your piece all the way through the blade. Don't stop the cut to turn off your saw...that's what got me a long time ago. Also, that plastic push stick will explode on you if you ever hit the blade with it. I would promptly throw it away and use a push block instead.

Came here to comment this, but I’m binge watching your videos and in the previous one I saw you actually DID clamp a piece to the fence to reference off of so good on ya! I’m enjoying the videos dude. Documenting your process is a great idea. And you and I look to be near eachother in skill level, especially with chisels 😂

Chisels are so hard to master! I see all these amazing wood workers using them with ease, and then I try to replicate them and it doesn’t go quiet as well 😂 but hey that’s why you practice!

The way you cut the last pieces on that sled is pretty dangerous. Those pieces dropping in between the running blade and the fence could potentially get caught by the blade and thrown out hard like a bullet. You should use a spacer block that sits earlier in the cycle.

That’s a good point. I’m always very careful when working with power tools but adding a spacer block is a good tip 👍
