Worst time to sleep early, I missed a Youfo video:( I've recently found Wekman's art just covered in toy tags, it's really sad to see that. Wekman is one of the most respectful writers out there. He almost never caps anyone's tag, not even toy tags. It's really a shame what is happening to his art

The Kez5 beef was more of a neighborhood issue. Lot of out-of-towner bomb the same area, which happened to be gentrified as well where Kez5 still held down. So it was sort of symbolic as well personal as to what was, rather still, happening in LES, Williamsburg and Bushwick. Lot of the writers are not as up as their social media has it appears, and Pear is no exception to that at least in NYC.

Always wanted to know more about pear. studied in new york and used to hear stories about him, as well as to see an honestly quite astonishing amount of his work. I've also lived in other cities before, in a few different places, but nobody seemed to really get up the way he did in new york; at least not until after he started to be ridiculously up in new york lol at one point i even lined him and wrote "fuck pear, make room!" lol. in my defence, we'd scoped the spot for, by our standards, quite some time and honestly assumed he was inactive at that point. We'd checked the night before and covered half the wall with a single tag by the time we got back; in the city where half your shit doesn't get to sleep at night lol. he took it from us with a single tag, lol. he was with others toox, but we only lined him. Mostly only seen photos (usually not in graffiti related content) of his stuff in other US cities. But he honestly did more (and all terrain, not just walls) than anybody I looked up to before moving to queens. Incredible attention to regional styles too on the stuff I saw of his in other cities, too. Dude's a fucken ghost.
