In this Davinci resolve tutorial, I'll share with you 3 text animations you can do using the follower modifier. The follower allows you to create text animation where the letter are animated one by one individually.
I've provided timestamps so you can easily jump between sections:
00:00 - Intro
00:10 - Install free titles
00:50 - 1. Bouncing Animation
04:30 - 2. Shear Animation
06:45 - 3. Opacity Animation

Wow, this is a super nice tutorial. I love the trick for the bouncing curve. I always try it and mess it up, so I go back to the default animation curve easing.

how would you go about making a text animation for the text exploding and falling apart letter by letter (letters explode and fly individually)? would there be a fusion setup for this or would it have to be individually keyframed? been rattling my head on this for a while.

Never really tried that kind of thing as it's not really my designing style. But I guess it depend if you're working in a 2D or 3D environment. I don't know much about 3D, but for 2D I would potentially try thing combining a follower modifier and maybe some expression work. Would need to experiment with it
