I could be wrong, but, my bro you are missing a point here, we live in a society where us humans need to be lured in, companies tell us what we want to hear/see through ads, if ads showed reality of it's products (think about choclates, think soaps - 99.9% kitanu ka mukabla, think about vicks ki goli lo, think about coke pepsi, etc) we would never buy them. Thats the reality we live in. Applying the same logic, here they are advertising excellence as the best path to success. And you are right! We are being told what we want to hear & being lured into it. "Chronology samaj rahe ho" ? The person who really wants excellence will stick to it even though he later finds out that its a difficult path, and not all glorious like Rancho.

its completely normal , those are some fair and good criticisms but i can bet my fcuking ass your feelings for the film will not change next time you watch it .

1/30th is still okay if you are going for a naturalistic look on a photograph, a slight blur can give a very nostalgic look. But yes, thoda badha dena chahiye tha, maybe 1/50th or 1/60th, but that comes at the risk of compromising on the lighting.

What most people forget is that in the movie, Chatur or Silencer as we call him, is also very successful indeed if you think success in monetary terms/higher posts. But people seem to focus only on Rancho. Silencer owns they best car, the best job, doesn't need to worry about anything in life. He did indeed come back to show them how successful he is even though all he could do was mug up things during his engineering.

I'm seriously missing those days when people knew how to take humor. Like this film is one of my favorite film and it's 1st time when I disliked this video. People now become so toxic over every film now and literally don't skip any chance to bash bollywood films whether it is old or new. No matter how good a movie is, people will always want to point out some mistake in any scene. Itni problem hai toh khud movie direct kyu nahi kar lete tum log rather then pointing out nostalgic movies. Anyways, grow up guys instead of offending like kids !!

Thanks for pointing this out. I recently discovered this channel and love all the videos except this one. Literally every comment is congratulating Ankit for roasting this movie but I felt he deliberately missed or misunderstood several points shown in the movie for the purpose of finding flaws to joke about. In middle class Indian families, most teenagers are not given really much choice about which educational degree to pursue. Teenagers of that age need proper guidance and career counseling to help them figure out which career path to pursue. But most middle class Indian parents can't see anything past Engineering and Medical careers which they force their kids to enroll into. So there's definitely parents, society and educational system to blame here in such cases. One can't generalize and say that we ourselves are to blame. I like Ankit's views on calling out the partiarchy and sexist nature that exists in Bollywood stories, but the chamatkar-balatkar scene isn't one such case. There's nothing anti-feminist about that joke as claimed in this video. I feel Ankit deliberately missed the context of that joke, which was only about highlighting the pitfalls of rote learning without actually understanding the meaning of the words. And lastly I'd criticize this video for unnecessarily viewing Farhan's admiration of Rancho from a homosexual perspective. I am sick of such mentality where two males can't be best friends without dragging in the gay angle. Same happened with Ram and Bheem's friendship in the movie RRR, where many people felt there was some romantic connection between them. So according to this video, that chamatkar-balatkar joke is bad and anti-feminist but Ankit deliberately pushing the gay angle in an otherwise regular male friendship is fine and just a joke. Stinks of double standard and hypocrisy to me.

If someone wants to become photographer without earning much but can be happy then parents should support them.After all being successful is all about being happy. I liked his previous roast videos but not this one.Also what he meant by saying "itni sundar larki engineering mein!"

Sorry to say but reality is different actually- you named 3 ,but how Many people FAILED in doing so???? Millions I tell you . MILLIONS . A reason why only 1 % people in this entire world are successful, doing what they want ,others fail in doing what they want and by the end go back to do labour . This movie doesn't show the full reality of that - when you fail ,you sometimes fail so HARD ,that financially, emotionally, mentally you may never rise back again. Just look at cinema industry in Bollywood - Talent and hardwork is not even the deciding factor anymore , people like Arjun Kapoor get chances upon chances but thousands of people apply for hundreds of auditions, FAIL, and they go back to their regular life, forgetting passion and going back to the same old CYCLE which this movie tells you not to. Yes that's the FULL reality, it may be nice to hear - follow your passion and succeed .this movie created an illusion that hardwork,talent,passion = success but a BIG NO!!!! Luck is that most important and FINAL deciding factor.just like how a toss in cricket can bring huge favours ,luck will do that in our life.

This is some serious dedication man.

Finally someone agreed - 3 idiots is a misleading movie . Excellence & success both requires hardwork, dedication, strategy, taste of failure - which are not shown in the picture . Instead the movie creates a comfort zone as if intelligence beats hardwork . Typical Bollywood.

The movie was something many unemployed engineers could relate to because the standards of engineering went down in the decade (2005-2015) and people could blame someone/something for their failures.

Funniest part of the movie is Piya 's ex fiance / almost husband Suhas was criticized becauss he did engineering then MBA and finally works as a banker ...exactly what the movie claims to be inspired from book five point someone writer Chetan Bhagat did...how ironic that Bhagat actually filed a FIR for copyright against a movie which makes fun of his own career choices .... I mean some people/inventors like to stay lowkey. So it is kinda possible ngl. They can just sell the rights/patents of their invention to a company and earn money through that, and still stay lowkey. I would agree with you on this point that, most of us loved the movie because it affirmed our own world views. The movie was a like pat on our backs, an escape sort of from the realities of our surroundings and harsh realities of life. I personally liked the movie because of the ideas it presented but unfortunately not all ideas can be fully implemented, though we can only try.
