3 Hours in the Pouring RAIN
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Insane dirt bike mud enduro motocross race with 50+ riders! This was crazy, I couldn’t believe how slippery it was… the bike was drifting all over the place.
Alright, clickbait keywords ^ out of the way… here’s a real description for those of you that read these: The morning dawned cold, wet and miserable. As had plenty of others in the weeks leading up, with both the Tasman and Marlborough districts experiencing flooding the likes of which they’ve never seen before! Needless to say, I was able to guess that we were in for a mudder… but what I could never have predicted, was the way the usually hard, dry and rocky Marlborough, New Zealand terrain (wine country) would take the downpour. Far from becoming boggy, it simply ate all of the weather and somehow remained hard… instead turning into perhaps the slipperiest paddock I’ve ever experienced! Admittedly I still had the stock, road-legal tyres on my new WR which don’t have the tallest knobs, but even with better ones I doubt there would have been much grip to go around. The format was an endurance motocross race… so, three hours or 180 minutes from gate drop to chequered flag. And with me having only ridden a handful of times in the past 12 months, I was in for a long day! But I did have a couple of things going for me. The WR, aside from having excellent chassis, suspension and engine, presented three distinct advantages; the fuel light, which took any guess work out of refuelling, its radiator fan which nullified any potential mud-related overheating issues, and… well, you’ll just have to wait and see what the third one was 😈

Take a pair of clear safety glasses as a backup and I used to tape a goggle lense to the top of my helmet peak to extend it out and and stop the roost hitting my face

This video was pure gold, "When I was sure Noone was looking... I set the quad bike on fire" absolute comedic genius! Plus it's always nice to see a video from a fellow south islander, keep up the awesome work!

The great thing about jokingly saying "I set the quad bike on fire" is that no one will ever suspect you of actually setting the quad bike on fire... 😉
This video was like the best movie to ever exist
bro every time I come to see the new videos I always forget that for some unknown reason you have 70k subs the sheer effort put into filming these videos and also the camera work and voice-over make the videos seem like you have at least 1 million subs if not more. Def one of the most underrated channels out there you deserve so much more! I cant wait for every new video!
Hey there Ash, haha last man standing congratulations on winning the event looked like it was a blast well done, I take it your working your way up to some 5 and 6 hour Ironman events do, they still have that 5 hour over Tuamarina way that was an awesome ride. It's an awesome feeling when you can feel the whole bike sliding around in the mud. Oh and thanks to Nicola for the awesome footage of the day. Cheers Richard
Beep beep 🤣haha. Great racing and video as always. Fun to watch. 👍✌️

Did a lot of sitting down tho as you can see 😂 Nah sort of surprised myself with this one. I think the mud helped, bike wasn't pulling so hard
The words “as you can see here” have never been such a tease…. Apparently snowman forgot we weren’t there and can’t see a dam thing lol! Ahhh the troubles of GoPro in the rain

Top vid mate, do you miss the lack of power the 450 has? From your previous review I am surprised your not on a yz450fx
hate the bad weather
Got to keep those tyres clean not clogged up with mud
What sort of event is this and is there any websites about for such events. Great work 👏
amazing
Rad!
My 22 WR makes a noise likes it's seizing up when you hang it out for prolonged periods. Turn it off and it disappears. I thought at first the gearbox might be binding up. I m sure it's the rad cap whistling like a kettle?
Yay
Hey man, i was wondering if u ever found out what that whining noise was. I have a 2021 YZ 250 FX and mine makes the same whining noise when ive been riding ahrd for like 40 + min.

Mine does it to, turn it off and it dissapears. Rad cap whistling? I thought it was terminal when mine first made it. Does it when your at prolonged throttle
I know exactly what whinning sound your talking about and then all of a sudden a couple weeks after it woulded start but it sounded like it was
Did your bike come with a throttle stop? I just picked up my 2021 and the throttle is limited. Did you take yours out? Great riding btw!

If you're in the US then you need to buy a GYTR unkorking kit. Down here WRs come fully derestrictable right out of the box, here's my video me doing it with this one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqGhppiaiKW3gsY.html
