New player. Scary seeing how non f2p friendly this game is. I'm level 53 and don't have one complete team besides the one they throw at you like spider verse. Soon many characters with sooo many shards to get is draining. I also can't compete in area after a certain level because every match up have a theme team vs my random mix character team. Even if I do get a character I want, it takes days of resources to make them competitive. I really want to like this game, but the higher I go it's like what's the point. I just going to get less and less competitive because I don't have such and such and probably won't get him as a f2p for years too come.

Dark beast and Kang are the next Agatha.

My main account just 7*d Ikaris today. I may have only bought 1 50 shard offer sometime in the beginning. But still suffering on Agatha, Abomination and some other toons that were released about a year ago

Abomination in the crucible store at least I got him a while ago but I am low ranked from just coming back to the game so I've mostly been winning in CC

@@jajo3203 I know. But I need that Teal Gear, because I would rather try and get a Big Boy Apocalypse sooner rather than later farming the 3 toons in that store

1) The fact that I DON’T NEED AGATHA ANYMORE after a year is sign how horrible farmabilty is in MSF. 2) fix Rulk’s ult! So much can go wrong when the match goes into that bugged manual sim mode. One moment I’m on the verge of a win, bugged sim calculation later and I’m 1 hp away from a loss.

Everytime my red hulk or opponents Ults my game go es crazy and I cant see the animations anymore, the targeting is all whack ite definitely bugged

can they fix the broken trust? can they focus on making the game fun again? can they release events without bugs? can the Friday blog be accurate?

Really dig your content! It’s been super helpful as I’ve gotten more into MSF over the past couple of months. Increasingly though, I’ve noticed that advanced basic catalysts are so freaking hard to come by. I’ve exhausted my supply and find that it’s one of the many bottlenecks that I’ve seen other describe. You can buy them, obvi. but I’m balking at the 50 UC’s or $6.99 for the silly amount they dole out, and not going to. There are a lot of cash grabs in this game and that isn’t one I can stomach. I will state that I started out F2P - which lasted for two weeks. I’ve spent about $2k over the past couple of months - which is more than most, but a lot less than others I’m sure. Honestly, since that, I’m actually enjoying the content more, now that there is MORE to do. I’ve since resolved to only buy the premium passes here and there - and maybe the 100k of Legacy II orbs for 50 UC’s (as my T3 mats are always dwindling, and it’s a pretty decent deal as related to buying them straight up). Not sure what I’m trying to get at here, but the more I play, the more I begin to see why people get frustrated after a period of time. Hate to say it, but Scopely has really designed an effect $$$ making device. It’s easy to sink a ton of money into it when you’re starting, but when the grind starts to rear it’s ugly head, people aren’t getting the immediate gratification that they’re used to. I think that this will change my perception of MSF, and start to enjoy the pace a bit more. I don’t know how long I’ll end up playing for, but I’ll make sure it ends up feeling like whatever I can justify as a rational expense of my hard-earned $$$. Again, thanks for the super content and real speak when it comes to this game and community. It’s refreshing to see people with a voice criticize something that they’ve clearly put a lot of time and effort into, and really enjoy it at it’s core.

Thank you for sharing and for the kind words as well. It means a lot. Yes I think in the beginning it is really easy to enjoy the game but the further you go along the more you see the a trend. It's a very expensive game that is hampered down by unnecessary bottlenecks. The best advice to to play at your own pace and make the best of it.

I hate how p2w the events are.

my biggest issue with unlocks is zim. I took a break form msf and missed zim. Now there is literally no opportunity to get zim. Maybe in a year scopely gives me some zim shards, but it just sucks

I miss the day when the only hard dissension you had to do was to get the passes or not.

The mini unique (teel) orange is no longer the bottleneck as they are in raid store if they did the same with teel that would make a start and blitz all sim (self explanatory)

One of the most "brain-dead" games you can play.. like paint-by-numbers for adults! They tell you EXACTLY what 5 characters to use in almost every situation (in many cases, it's literally impossible to use anyone different)

F2P went from key components to open everything late. However, there has been some drops when it comes to new players. New and f2p play shouldn’t have any idea what Apocalypse should be. As a kid reading the comics you want to be as far from it as possible. When he does become more easily farmable they can keep things interesting by having his powers evolving. Having new horsemen teams, running house of x, world hulk, Hulk worldbreaker or my favorite weapon H

CC is a perfect example of why mode specific teams just suck or just massively overtuned. The CC room buffs should be based on the origin or other more general tags, never a specific 5 man team, ok maybe occasionally a team specific buff to a room (say for a tie-in event or something) would be ok. But mode stuff on the kits needs to be removed or massively tuned down, let the players work out who's good on War Off/Def, don't force it. There hasn't been a good new event in years, there's no gameplay in any of them, it's either do the overly easy mode for minimal rewards (certainly not an unlock), or spend shittons to buy and level the new toon, to even open the event. At least the legendary mode allowed you to unlock a char slowly, which was a goal. But for me the economy needs an overhaul...we've just got the latest campaign nodes...and I get blue/purple training mats...wtf use is that?

I haven’t missed but maybe 6 days since launch and I still haven’t gotten dark beast I am 8 shards shy the orb that is advertising him does not drop him , if it does it’s one shard

I believe he was a month long event which are all very grindy but you had to do almost everything to get the unlock.

I walked away, came back a year later and I might walk away again. The gear bottlenecks and the new gold restrictions make me want to say f’ck. I don’t chase characters and teams and prefer to make my own teams at times, being forced to make the same teams everyone else has is boring asf.

I can see why that happened. I’ve had to change my approach entirely since I’ve started to experience the bottlenecks. Some of them are just plain silly. And as I mentioned in my own comment, I had a short-lived experience as a ‘whale’, so while I started out with a lot of mats, I’ve found certain ones just impossible to find, and the idea of paying $6.99 for 35 of something that I need at least 3x that many for one toon is absurd. Absurd is relative considering what I spent on this game overall. lol

Wish we get more shards for rebirth, im trying to work on them.

im not bothered about 5 person teams. but i think kits should be far less tied to game modes. the team should be GOOD everywhere., then in have the abilities do a little more. some toons do pretty much nothing when not in their favoured gamemode, and then have a full-on novel when in the right place. its stupid. there is NO point in being a dolphin in this game anymore. i used to spend a bit each month, i would dominate everything. then suddenly the prices went up but value obtained went down. The domination then stopped, and so the spending stopped too. i havent spent a single penny since Nov 2022

It depends on what content you are doing but 3 stars can do it but gotta be careful at end-game. 4 stars is good. 5 stars is ideal.

I would describe myself as an intermittent light spender ( weekend dolphin) …been playing since Covid and somehow just got Agatha! My problem is gold! I can’t afford to bring her level up ! I am frugal but I’m always behind getting new teams and players… so can’t compete with you big dawgs. Wish I had someone to look over my roster and coach me in good decision - making for my game investment. I have no gold to offer you coach 😢

*unpopular opinion * Farmabilty isn't the issue unlockability is... Scopely should make it that everyone should be able to EASILY unlock and level toons up to 2 tiers below the current cap.. Two 3* invaders at g16 is gliding thru skill nodes in doom 3.4. I think everyone should be able to get and gear every toon EASILY (3-4*s g15) and be able to use them in raids and other PvE content. What separates us from the whales are the extra stars and top two gears. If we get all the stars and all the gear at release, what would you be playing for? I know this is an unpopular opinion. Yes a whole year is eff'n ridiculous and they should speed up their cadence a bit but think about cause and effect. If they do that they will also speed up their release cadence and that's already way too fast. If they speed up the Farmabilty cadence and not the release cadence then you will be making videos again about nothing to farm. Love your content homie keep it up

Unlock ability sucks for some characters but if those characters were farmable within 2 months of release most players wouldn't be as frustrating. However yeah I def see your point.

Like Goofy said, maybe for some characters for some players unlockability sucks but for me farmability is a problem. I unlock all the new characters at 3 stars but then they stay at 3/4 stars for months.

#1 Farmability- i think business wise it makes sense for some characters to be harder to get and not farmable.. i do agree that a year is a long time, but they have had her in events as rewards and even my FTP accounts have her unlocked. we all have decisions to make in the game, i choose to use my purple cores to open orbs early and help unlock characters, other people choose to use their cores for something else. one thing they do need to change is their punishment for missing a day of gameplay.. 7 day suspension of sim raid.. is way too over the top of a punishment for missing one day of gameplay. and i do agree that giving some extra room in the events to help unlock characters makes sense. the fact that you have to do 100% to get those rewards sucks. and if real life happens we shouldnt be punished. #3 character events - i hate blitz events... would you feel better if they demarked the point at which you need to purchase offers in order to get the rewards? as a FTP player, on one or 2 of my accounts, i usually open up the new character and i honestly dont expect myself to get all of the goals in an event. even on my account that i spend money i usually dont finish the events. Tadano Mac and people like him are the ones paying to keep the lights on... they should receive benefits for spending money.. and what better way for scopely to market their offers then to show what a player gets if they spend money.

So business wise, sure that makes sense but there time frames are excessive and it's a repeated practice by them. A character cadence would fix that. As it pertains to events, Spenders already spent to not to events prior to this largely predatory system they have gone to now. The have ratcheted up the need to spend now for years and the result is a burn out of high spenders and an increased range of difficulty for non heavy spenders. The game is out of balance in a bad way. There used to be healthy competition across the board. They have manufactured spenders vs spenders and ftp vs ftp etc.... It's lent to burn out and frustration. Spenders will spend anyways, they didn't have to make it this unbalanced. They went to far one side to the point where it makes no sense for dolphins to even spend anymore because they have devalued dolphin dollars. Their plan is just to milk krakens and whales. It's very clear.

@@goofyrhexxi do you think that this $$ push was solely for the acquisition? i am a dolphin on my main account, and i feel like my upgraded characters get me through the game. i wouldnt want to go up against a T MAC size opponent, so keeping spenders vs spenders and ftp vs ftp makes sense to me. ive always said that scopely should be happy that players spend any money.. and give us more for our dollar. which is where spenders screwed us, because scopely had no reason to make their offers more affordable if their main revenue source was eating up the offers. that beign said those are the people who kept the lights on.

@@davidreph5210 I do believe it had something to do with it for sure. I don't see how it couldn't. I think the game was better, more players, more engagement when the gap wasn't so wide. It created healthy competition, more strategy etc... This model has widened the gap, dumbed the game down, burnt out players and has lessened the fun. I always ask the question, is this Objectively fun? The only content is new character releases not actual gameplay because gameplay is essentially already predetermined. Sure the spenders "keep the lights on" They were on before, they just got greedy. Scopely that is.

Just like events.... rotate the characters on the nodes. Every month they could rotate the characters on them and it would cost them nothing. I understand they want to incentivize spending to make profit, but you don't have to put every character on the nodes, just change them up. I also thinkt hey could up the value of raid credits for lower levels of raiding to help lower level accounts attain characters from the raid store.... I can only ever get shards of a character like once or twice a week and I'm spamming the raids man. I'm just level 50 now and to this point that store has felt nearly pointless....

Raid store, Arena and War are tough for beginners. Very slow farms unfortunately

Make ikaris and agatha farmable so it would be better..

By time Agatha is farmable I will have her at 7 stars from premium and basic orbs. They have discouraged me from spending as you point out there is no reason for me to do it. I guess if the big boys want to flex their wallets to be #1 that's fine for them but it only proves they have more money to waste than the other guys.
