Not sure but can we get deck lists because I saw a cultivate in atla and that just seems ineffective for a cedh deck

Yeah sorry didn't mean to sound condescending, I have played shuffle atla before but I think the deck Marley was playing was an upgraded precon

Nah my wincon is Mirror Entity, but I did have a bunch of unnecessary stuff in there for sure.

What were these Keeps? There were no turn 1 plays and on the 5th turn of the game Marly played a tapped bounceland bringing back the maze of ith which meant he had to discard due to hand size without even playing a spell! One suggestion is to start adding in ALL Deck lists. I'd like to know what kind of mana base Marley was playing. Hidden and Alex made different choices in lands than I would (I don't want to say they're wrong but I would like to know why they think that way and what lands are they not playing to play those). One example of that is Hidden's T1 Sancuary, I like the Mystic sanctuary but I've cut them from all my cEDH decks except maybe in mono blue Urza. Rarely will mono blue get 4 islands in play (including mystic itself) and that's in mono blue not UR. Similarly Alex showed us at least 2 fetchable tap lands, He's only in 3 colors is he so color starved that he needs triomes and if the answer is yes is he playing, city of brass, mana confluence and lands like exotic orchards (which can be like a tapped land if you go first)? I like the 1-off surveil land but it was WR which wouldn't have been my choice for which land to choose but If i could look at his decklist i might realize he's not as black heavy without Blue from Krom. I took a look at Hidden's decklist and his mana base was a bit questionable.

Unfortunately I don't know the keeps other than Hiddens, as this was filmed with "randos" at MC Chicago. Hiddens keep was due to the harmonic prodigy and the rhystic, I knew Matt and Marleys combos were slower so I didn't mulligan aggressively for a faster hand. In addition my mana base is geared for blood moon and back to basics so it's basic heavy with only a few utility lands As for Marley I believe his deck was an upgraded precon that he turned competive, hence the random tapped lands. I do know he only started playing cedh about half a year ago so I don't hold it against him

A lot lands and artifacts are tapped halfway Marley starts off with everything flushed to the btm left side Alex tilted his deck and Graveyard sideways which can be slightly confusing because usually we put our cards in exile in the tapped position

What do you mean? Marley had multiple cards that shuffled his graveyard back in so there really wasn't a way for hidden to mill him out

@@DeadOnBoardMTG ah ok. I thought there were 1-2 cards with the one already out. Brain freeze until you hit the mill shuffler then respond by freezing again. I didn’t think there was that many that would allow him to reshuffle.

I wouldn't say that, I think overall his play was fine, he didn't know that removing the rule of law would let me go off and the rule was helping Marley the most as with the board wipe alex also needed to rebuild
