I’ll never in 100 years ever understand why people leave their doors unlocked. I’ve lived alone for over 10 years now and the only time I ever unlock my doors is when I use them. Seems a lot of these stories are the result of an unlocked door at home.

  • @maeve010576

Being "young and attractive" isn't a requirement. Someone broke my 70 year old neighbor's window in order to gain access to her house to attempt to assault her in her bedroom. Thankfully she had raised three boys and was no pushover but she was hurt and understandably frightened by the time she chased him away. And, unfortunately, it did turn out to be someone living in an apartment building on our street. Her sons take turns staying with her now. Edit: I won't be responding to any more comments here as the comments have gone from useful discourse to simply trying to get a rise out of me bc I rightly pointed out that anyone can be a victim of the crimes in the video and age and appearance have nothing to do with it.

When she said that it made my eyes roll. If she wants to go for statistics it's not attractive women. It's the ones that look the weakest and most vulnerable. If a sick person wants something they'll go for the easiest target in their head. I may not be very attractive but I'm a very petite woman that can easily be picked up and carried off. I would think that's more of a reason to be scared but that's my opinion.

The reason why Mr. Nightmare is so popular is his no-nonsense delivery. I rarely subscribe to “true horror” channels because the majority of the narrators either have a voice I don’t like or speak with some sort of affected voice, trying to be scary or edgy or literate or urban or whatever. But while Mr. Nightmare delivers each story in a very straightforward manner, he knows when to use inflection properly. In other words he doesn’t overdo it so that when he does do it it’s effective. As a side note, I think he is also Chilling Scares. If not that channel is a hell of a copy cat. Either way it’s pretty good so if you like Mr. Nightmare you might wanna check Chilling Scares out.

Yep, I ended up having to live with the parental units as an adult at one point (not my choice, long story) and was aghast to find out they didn't lock their doors. They thought a magical sky tyrant was gonna keep them safe, or some crap. This was in a suburban neighborhood north of DC. I drilled it into them to lock the damned doors and keep them locked, in the daytime too because that don't make no difference. Some months later, the neighborhood was hit by grab-and-dash purse snatchers, the kind who just open front/back doors and grab promising purses and bags nearby.

I can hear something constantly scratching at the ceiling In my room, so watching these probably isnt healthy but still I love these and they make my week a bit better, horror movies don’t do it for me but these realistic stories do it for me (a testament to how good these videos are) (Edit) it was bats, was not a fun afternoon. Went up there to have a look got right over where my room is and within 30 seconds of looking around two bats hanging in the corner low down clocked me, bricked it, and freaked the fuck out flyin all over the place. I woulda beat usain bolt any day at the speed I was movin.

Seeing the visuals and footage from precisely where the first story takes place, is a very nice touch. The story itself was not that creepy, but seeing what the OP saw really helped establish the set and setting and mood. The visuals made the first story significantly creepier, because we could see what the OP was seeing. Well done all the way around.

Everyone needs to do a security sweep of their house or apartment. My family always made fun of me for checking the house but during the 3 years living with my wife, just the two of us, I have always checked closets under beds everywhere because i have to expect that there is a possibility of someone smarter than me, stealthier than me who could be in my house uninvited

Now, I live in Japan, which is super safe, but I still sweep my house. I don’t take anything for granted.

Locking your doors is literally the bare minimum to protect yourself and people still refuse to do it. Im a pretty paranoid person (mostly because of my upbringing) so I always lock my doors. Even then, sometimes it isn't enough. Once, my back door was kicked in, and 3 armed men rushed into my house within a 10 second window. Eveything locked. No one had any time to react. No time to grab any weapons. They could've killed everyone in the house if they wanted. Luckily for us, that's not what they were there for. And it's not like that experience taught me anything. I already knew better. It just goes to show that if someone REALLY wanted to get into your house, they 100% could. Regardless of locks or cameras. The only question is whether or not you're prepared for that type of situation. Most people aren't. That's what makes them an easy target.

These stories always get me so invested. There's something so addictive about stories I'm not sure what but I love it. Stay safe everyone!

Yes! Same here. I love these type of channels. There's Two more I watch besides this one, called MJV Animations and IMR Scary Tales.

Did the guy in the first story not consider that maybe those people were hiding from HIM? Like, maybe they were afraid of getting caught and charged for trespassing

Story one was most likely just some homeless people living in the abandoned buildings. It's very common anytime you have abandoned buildings. It's an easy roof over your head when you're homeless
