Just because I don't break down in verbal tears on a KZread forum nor wish to rain on the OP's parade by waxing eloquent in long public soliloquy regarding issues with our children does not mean there is no emotion. 🙄

Balance is needed in all things. Make up is good. But like he said if it goes into sensuality and she wants to be lusted after then that's wrong. Unfortunately many women want to be lusted after. And tall dress up for other women not so much so for men.

From military perspective: the artillery commander, the technical commander, the signals commander and the infantry commander are on the same level, for the same team, but they have different roles. And as long as they stick to their roles the best they can, and support one another where needed, there is a chance for victory in battle. If one tries to take over another's role, foresee chaos and the probability of defeat.

I think when women work at the expense of their families, especially their children, this is wrong. If you are able to balance your job and your family is still taken care of, you all still have time together and reminded the this is a temporary situation, I see you being an example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Just keep praying for that balance! ;) My husband always did devotions at dinner time because this is where the kids were right there and paying the closest attention. I don't think the message of it being okay to be a stay-at-home mom, taking care of the kids while your husband works to financially support the family applies to you. I also don't think he was saying it's all on the women. The world we live in teaches women from a VERY early age seduction. Men are also taught wrong things from a VERY early age, but they aren't around showing off their figures.

You are sadly mistaken. Here's my faithful expose' on Paul Washer's false teachings on this video. Trust you'll be greatly encouraged to truly focus Godward: 1. There can be no evil of Feminism without the evil of Masculinism. Just as there can be no female without the male. Feminism came out of Masculinism just as the female came out of the male. So, if you want to blame one, start by blaming the former first - which is the root of all evil in the fallen human race. If in doubt, refer Isa 43:27, Hos 6:7, Gen 3:17-19 etc. 2. You just blasphemed the Triune Identity of God by equating it with what? The male and female marital relationship???? Woe to you. 3. Can a person have two heads? How can the male be the head of the female when the Word of God clearly testifies Christ is the Head of all - eg. Eph 1:22? Who would you say is the head of a widow or an unmarried woman? Who appointed the male to be the Head, or even for that matter, the Husband when the Word of God clearly testifies God alone is the Head and the Husband of His people - eg. Isa 54:5, Hos 2:19 & 16, Jer 3:14, Rev 19:8 etc. etc. Why would God according to you suddenly feel the need to substitute Himself with the fallen man?!! Will there be no end to your blasphemies? 4. It is obvious you do not know what God has testified against you lot: "Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?" - Prov 20:6. The reason the commandment in Eph 5:25 exposes you lot all the more. Do you pretend to love your wife as Christ loved the Church? Read Ps 49:7-9 which begins, "NO MAN CAN....." Need I say more on the matter? Perhaps now you will begin to understand why the Lord alone is the True Husband (meaning The Redeemer) of His people, or the Bride, as He collectively calls them to mean 'the redeemed'. 5. It is also obvious you have absolutely no knowledge how to discern between the Infallible & Irrefutable Word of God and the worthless & futile words of men. The reason you wish to impose a dress code other than what the Word of God teaches - which is the uniform Robe of Righteousness or the Wedding Clothes for both male & female - without which one cannot even hope to enter the Kingdom of God, whether male, female or eunuch. 6. The Word of God clearly teaches True Beauty is the surpassing Holiness of God (eg. Ps 104:1, 1 Chron 16:29b etc.), so what are you on about talking nonsense with respect to the perishing beauty of the perishing body of the fallen mankind? Perhaps if not anything else you will begin to see why the Lord has brought the following charge against the likes of you, eg. Jer 2:11, "...But My people have exchanged their Glory for worthless idols..." and likewise, Rom 1:22-23, "Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the Glory of the Immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and......" 7. Last but not the least, understand that the 'Manspel' all false prophets like you advocate has since the time of your first father, the very first man, is all about woman-bashing, woman-indoctrinating and most of all woman-enslaving so as to keep them subjected to their accursed existence of Gen 3:16 as opposed to the blessed existence of Gen 3:15b God has ordained for them by the Gospel (yes, short for God-spelt or the Word of God). Refer also, Jer 31:22, Mic 4:8, Prov 9:3 etc.

I remember as a young girl, when wearing a dress the length had to be certain. My mother would have me stand on my knees and if the hem of my dress touched the floor, it was the right length. I might also mention that not every tall woman is treated more spectacularly than any other. I am 5'11" and most of my life was underweight. I did model and it was a horrific occupation, crushing any confidence God may have given me for many years. Women who model normally start in their teens, I was 14 as a suntan oil model. The years most important in developing a healthy esteem of self were sabotaged by the media image of what is expected. I starved myself for years, became anorexic and my identity was wrapped up in whether I obtained the next photo opt. So, just to be fair; I wanted to make sure that people see the "underbelly" of being a model or actress for a woman, the pressure to be something or someone that is not even realistic or healthy is oppressive. This expectation held me hostage for most of my life, I still fight it everyday. I thank God that He sees me and knows my every thought. With God I am finding a new normal, one that has HIS expectation of me at the forefront and not what a photographer or agent thinks.

Yes. I'm not a model or anything but I hear ya ! Also, about tall women ( I am 5'9"), it can be really hard to find decent length dresses. Not excusing wearing definitely inapropiate clothing, but wishing folks to be full of grace and avoid judging ( the person, not discerning what is or isn't a good behavior or etc.) not just cuz God says not to, but because we are only human and it can be really hard. As a tall teen and YA, I was working basically all the time on my family's farm, and we had really hard times going on, and my Dad was a super stressful and even abusive person most of it too. I had very, VERY little time to shop and couldn't really sew, and my mom had no time ( and little style-sense, not that mine was so great). I had to make do with what I could find locally, which was K-mart and Goodwill ( and Maurices, but that was pricey and usually only tiny stuff there. I wasn't fat except my thighs were never great, but was a big boned, wide shouldered German/Swede gal with farm muscles). All K-mart had in my late teens was either maxi skirts which made me look truly awful, or mini skirts, and here and there just a FEW that were knee length, but for my hight, were above the knee. SO frustrating. SO. SOOOO. I got the best length one I could, but it was meant for the over 50 crowd and I saw one older lady wearing it at the function I went to. Most of the teens around seemed snobby. I did have one friend, who was also homeschooled, but we didn't have friends, relatives or neighbors in common so never saw her at functions. Thankfully, I knew that any boy/man who's opinion ultimately mattered, wouldn't be put off by a slightly dorky outfit, if I was growing in the Lord and my light of godly womanhood was thus shinin thru ! I've been married for 15 years now to a man who thought I "looked like my mother dressed me" when we 1st met... and went over to meet me, anyways ( sorta set up by his Bfs new MIL, my cousin's wife). We found we had a ton of values and interests in common & he asked for my phone no. later ! I was 26. Back to earlier : I also struggled over the years with too-tight of jeans ( and into my 30s). Again, we had very little $ and I was tall, not often finding anything that fit me at Goodwill or thrift sales, so I was buying my jeans new. Of course, could use stained good jeans for farm work. But being washed and dried so much, maybe not on as cold as they should have, idk, mom did it ( I was in barn all the time those days), they shrunk over time and my weight/size was always steadily increasing by the year or 2, but also fluctuating a lot with some constant water weight issue ( being on concrete too much ? Or the stress ? i ate awfully healthfully usually...). So, on any given day someone may stop by and my jeans may be nearly skin tight. I didn't know much about it, but had heard that that's probably immodest and so felt badly or awkward, esp. per people knowing we were Christians. Yet I couldn't afford time or $ right then always, to go buy more. And I couldn't buy them too loose, to grow into, and be able to function well per some of my chores. Sometimes all I had to go to town in, that was clean or etc., or fit at all, was a tighter pair. So, just don't assume ever folks, plz, that someone WANTS to dress how they are. U don't know everything they may be dealing with. Some of those years it was all I could do to not go insane, things were that horrible and hard at home and I seemed to have no way out or to fix it ( long, personal story).

I met my husband when he came in for a haircut. He was a senior in high school (so yes, I am 2 years older). He "interviewed" me about my view on motherhood (pretty old school guy for 18 years of age), and found that I too was very old school and I wanted to stay home with my children no matter what the financial situation would be. This sealed the deal and he asked me out! We agreed that I would work part time as a stylist to bring in some extra money, but only when he was home with the kids and only for a few hours at a time. My money helped us to be able to afford vacations. I never went further in the cosmetology business as far as managing a salon or beyond, but I just tell others, I was raising my family at the time and my job came last. I loved my job but it was only a tool. We absolutely do not regret this decision! We know it was a Godly one.

Cough cough...my mother worked and she was/is definitely a godly woman, with a Godly home. I am not too sure why Christians are hell bent at judging others and making them less because of trivial/ useless things. There is no where in the Bible that states a woman needs to be at home at all times to be Godly, nor is there anywhere that says she can only work part time. You are no more special nor more acceptable to God because you stayed home, you are simply one of His children, who desired to stay home and the Father allowed it to be so. For my mom, through out her career, God used her to bless her children, her husband, her family, her husband's family, and many other families. Infact, God took her, through her career, to save people who had no help from anywhere and through her, many men, children, and women have come to christ. she wasn't even a missionary. She just lived in the path God ordered for her. If she would have stayed home, it would have been a waste. All the kids at home were actually fine with her being wherever she needed to be, it wasn't a big deal to me. When I needed her, she was there. Afterall, I was her child and her name commanded respect. Did we have vacations? Not really, but who cares? There was never a dull moment and I got plenty of adventures. I only wish this nonsense will end and we pay attention to real issues in the Bible that Christians are actually short on. Does anyone wonder about the Lord's prayer? Before crucifixion, if I recall correctly, the Lord prayed that all the sheep may be one just as He and the Father are one. What does that mean and does our Christian walk express and fulfill the Lord's desire here? There are alot of things a Christian ought to be concerned with in this Christian life. Sin and all this talk is rather rudimentary, and childish and doesn't even start to scratch the mystery of God's purpose for creation that is obviously the point of the Bible and the point of our salvation. In the Old Testament, I belive the story that mirrors what we are doing now, is like when the Israelite went to tend to their own houses and families, while God had no temple/no House. At some point we need to rise up from the me me me me Christian life and look up to what God actually desires in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you so so much for posting this. I find myself feeling increasingly repulsed by the idea of marriage after coming across so many Christian men who will spew verse after verse at you about the dos and don'ts of being a woman-how *real* Christian men wouldn't settle for any less than a perfect, obedient virgin-yet completely ignore what the Bible says about men loving their wife as Jesus loves the church. I feel people today tend to take that more as "be nice to your wife" rather than seeing it for how deep it really is. Jesus willingly DIED for the church because of his unconditional love and forgiveness; it's not a command to be taken lightly. (Not saying husbands need to go die or something. Lol). This video refreshed me and reminded me that there *are* good Christian men out there who want a Godly marriage, not just a servant with benefits to look down on.

Find a guy who understands that true love is a commitment and emotions are not the main focus. Who has self control. Who reads the bible daily and cares about the truth. Ask whoever you're interested in to explain the gospel in 30 seconds or a minute. If they cant give a good biblical answer then I wouldn't bother with them until they can. A husband who says he loves his wife should absolutely be willing to die for her. I know I would die for my wife. A godly spouse can lead the other to holiness, but it's certainly better to start with someone who is already saved. A marriage where both respect and love each other while focusing on God is beautiful. You will push each other forward and be an example to others. It is worth it. I pray you find someone who will push you forward and not away from God, if it is your desire to find a good man

After I had lost my job a few years back, I really believed that God wanted me to take some time away from working to be at home. I did that for almost five years. I can honestly say, it was the best thing for our family.

Stop misrepresenting that verse. The wife of Proverbs 31 does trade out of the home and to get a proper understanding and interpretation of a verse in the Bible, it must align in the context of other portions of the word that speak to the same thing. Btw, Abigail! One of the prominent wives of David, went with him to battle. The song of Solomon alludes to the relationship of Christ and the Church, which the Husband and wife represents. Solomon courts the country girl, makes her into a queen, and she goes to battle with him as terrible and fearsome. Similarly, Christ and the Church, the Church goes to battle with Christ against the enemy. In revelation, the Bride battles against the enemies. The female is not just about sitting at home and not concerning herself with other things out of the home. The woman is for both the household, the administration of supplies, and for battle. It's great you had the opportunity to be home, but no need to twist this verse to fit a very narrow interpretation that only puffs you up with the feeling of being better that others or more godly than other faithful women who work. This structure of the 1950s wife, is simply a tradition. It has nothing to do with holiness or godliness. The problem, especially in US is so much mixture of everything. People mix politics, traditions, with the word of God. But we forget that we are not to adulterate the word of God. How a family will work, should be settled between a man and the wife and be dependent on their situation. While I do whole heartedly believe that people have free will and should be free to have whatever preferences they want, I do not appreciate preachers further exacerbating the divide between men an women by preaching not Just an wildly unreasonable standard, but an unbiblical one at that. Yes, the men's nature, that is their flesh seeks control and dominance, however the ordination is one of leading in submission to Christ, not to strictly enforce some no work policy so he can feel one way or the other. Teaching that women who work are somehow sinning or ungodly doesn't help deal with this fleshly dominance in men. God is not here to pump anyone person's ego. The tradition is not God's word and makes no one holy.

How I could do so much better, while I’m visibly pregnant with my second child, my 10 month old child on my hip, and they’re out partying in college, single. It was something my husband and I both agreed on before we even married and I was never upset when I hardly saw my husband, because he was working.

Elegance and refinement? I don't know about that as being necessary. I agree with modesty and wisdom. But elegance and refinement are not necessary. They are good, but not necessary. I home schooled my own children then went to work in a public school which was my ministry. I ministered to my students and coworkers and made an impact there. Yes. Godly women can work outside the home. Their worth does not equal their paycheck by any means, but a godly woman in the work place is a powerful force and models biblical wisdom and holiness to the unsaved around her.

I remember what this Pastor explains in thid sermon - going on in the early 1970's & onward. At that time I was graduating from HS & females were supposed to go to college, get a degree, & get a job. I had NO real desire to go to college & no idea what to I should study. My parents always took us to church, but had an unhappy & not truly Christian marriage. I had no leading or teaching of how to be, & live my life as a GENUINELY TRUE & MODEST, TRADITIONAL, & BIBLICAL CHRISTIAN woman. How I wish I had! Decades later, it's only clear to me NOW that in my core - I wanted to be a wife & a mother, but WHAT WAS CLEAR TO ME was that I WAS NOT TO LET SOCIETY KNOW HOW I FELT & WHAT I REALLY WANTED.

A woman who stays home today to care for their family will have to be very strong in the Lord in order to resist being manipulated by the women who think homemaking is nothing. I feel sorry for those families who have no mother at home full time. They are missing so much in stability and a sense of safety.

You don't need to feel sorry for kids who don't grow up with a mother at home full-time. Not everyone's situation is the same. I wouldn't necessarily say they're missing so much. My mother was a stay at home for a few years, then worked part time whilst we, 6 kids, were in school (ranging from high school to primary school), and then switched to full time later on. I feel like my mother gave us her all. I never felt like I wasn't loved, never felt unsafe and I don't think I've ever felt like she was never there. She's raised some pretty good kids. Perhaps I may have benefitted more if she had stayed at home full-time but to be honest, I'm content with the way she balanced her work life and family life and so I don't need search for an answer. My mother had very little choice but to work after we left our home country. My father, who was physically there but emotionally absent wasn't doing much in terms of providing. I thank God for the grace that he gave my mother. Sometimes things need to be looked at on a case by case basis.

@@vivian2414 I agree with those who say you are disobeying the scriptures that say women are not to lead over men. It is not a calling of God if it defies His own word. 1 Timothy 2:11-12 "…11A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; she is to remain quiet." Women have many calling within God's commands she does not need to defy His word to preach and teach, she can teach women, she can speak to unbelievers including men to bring the gospel to the unsaved. There are many avenues for her but mainly and above all she is to be diligent in her role as a wife and mother influencing those in her household. If you seek Christ for which way to serve Him you may find that the smallest matters of obedience are great in God's eyes because of the obedience not the size or grandioseness of the calling.

This is so true. A woman who dresses sexually often does not think enough of herself to be attractive as a person. This is a real shame since they have a low image of the real person inside the body. A woman who dresses attractively but not sensually has enough confidence to know she does not want to attract a man of low character who would use her and discard her. She knows who she is and in whose image she was created. That is grace, character, class and is very attractive to a man who can appreciate her for more than her looks.

It is not unbiblical for women to work outside the home. Women must never find their identity in their job. I stay at home, I love it, will never trade it for anything in the world, but many women work because they have to and sadly lose their value and identity which is suppose to be defined by who they are in Christ and let their job give them fulfillment which can never happen.

Definitely. I think I can tell when women care more about loving others than about looking good. They still try to look good, but it's not as high a priority so they're more chill about it. They have more childlike fun with it, not less. If she thinks looking good will make the difference between a bad life and a good life (instead of God), it's an idol and will cause drastic measures and only pain.

@@user-nz1bi6ty5q Man's problems are centred around three paradoxes. He constantly feels pain, greed and fear in his heart and tries to medicate self with various pursuits. More the pleasure he immerses himself in, more despondent he feels. More wealth he gains to placate his greed, more desperate he ends up being. All the measures he takes to feel safe leaves him all the more vulnerable and petrified. The only solution is to understand the problem of man's heart. It is the problem of the man's propensity to sin and the terror arising out of the impending judgement after death for the acts he had committed against God. The only way is to believe that Jesus is LORD who had been sent and had taken all our actions' and thoughts' consequences on Himself on the cross. He died and having been spotless, rose again defeating sin's power and punishment, thus liberating us. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God

I don't think that God is against sensuality, but rather, it's inappropriate for the church whenever the congregation gathers to worship, or every day life when we go to work, run errands, etc. Sensuality should be kept as a gift that a woman shares with her husband in the privacy of their own homes, as often as they might choose to enjoy each other intimately.

Men love your wives as you love yourselves. This is what scripture commands men to do for his wife. However, the world does not teach men to be Godly fearing men. And that is why there are boys who never grow up. A man cannot love his wife, if he does not love God. His wife becomes an idol to him. If a woman wants a Godly man, then they need to let the boy become molded into a God fearing man. And when he does, the woman needs to learn how to submit to her husband. It goes hand in hand. If the woman refuses to learn how to submit, how can a woman expect her husband to be her provider, her protector? This is why there is so much chaos in not only ungodly marriages, but ungodly relationships too. Because everyone wants whatever they want but never submit into their roles that God has. His divine order. It's so simple it's hard.

@@prer2505 I don't believe it because I know how much most men adore their wives, It is rather the other way around I think - most divorces are initiated by the women, not the men. I think you also need to be careful of making declarations about attributes of other people when they simply disagree with you. It is another very common female trait (toxic femininity if you ask me) to attack the person and degrade them rather than tackle their argument. We see too much of that these days.

@@DavidNotSolomon see the only motive of my comment was to point out the fact that most of the time men only preach how wives should behave, where as there are very few preacher who point out the flaws in men, this "not all men" argument is baseless if you can't correct the type of men who do bad things, If men have been given the authority to preach then why not use it for good. people fail to see that the wordly feminism is coming from a place of extream hurt and self hatred. If you want to address this issue I would suggest you to approach these people with love. It's ironic how you just labelled me as a toxic feminist.
