I wrote the blog post the other day (misfirebook.com/3-common-phra...) and recorded the video just a few minutes ago. It was after a long ride home stuck in L.A. traffic that allowed me plenty of time to mull over a serious conversation with my son-in-law circling around our divided culture and the world in which his kids - our grandchildren - were likely to grow up.
It revolved around three common phrases that both capture and perhaps, offer a solution to the current reality that divides the nation so clearly.
They are only thinking makes it so. What you don't know won't hurt you. And the importance of forcing yourself to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. There is great wisdom in each of these phrases individually. But together they just might provide a roadmap to our achieving a better understanding of many of those who for whatever reason don't see the world in the same way we do. Certainly, something for all of us to consider.
