I love how clear at speaking you are. I need to practice listening a lot because I feel that that also prepares me for speaking, so I think it would be wonderful if you make videos just speaking, I don't know, telling stories or something like that. Of course the adverb is being ignored in speech which is very annoying it does not sound correct when it is not used an people use an adjective to describe a verb.

Finally I found a truth about "to + base verb" case. I've been wondering it why? I only know "I'm looking forward to" form and didn't even realize that it can also be used for other forms. I've read several articles in Washington and NY Times and I was confused why did they make such a small mistake considering they're the big media platforms, now I found out I'm the one who made a mistake. Hey! I saw a comment of yours and got to know that you can speak Spanish . As you can see my Id is in Spanish but I am from India actually . Even though I speak English fluently since it is my primary language, I still make some of these mistakes. Maybe not the mistakes mentioned in the video, but it’s really easy to do. I speak german fluently as my second language. The grammar in german is way different, and can be more complicated.

Well I wasn't familiar to the concept of subjunctive and I also had problem using the last grammar in my daily life. It was helpful and thank you.

Your way of teaching n explaining is super perfect, you make the things simple n easy.

Isn't it actually that the subjunctive has two tenses, present and past? So it might be better to clarify that the subjunctive of "to be" in the past tense is "were", rather than saying, after "if, as if etc". Great vids by the way!

Essentially, these are two entirely different constructions which happen to share a “to”. You know that modal verbs like “want” or “hope” take a verb in the “to”-infinitive, as in “hope to see you”. “look forward to”, however, is not a modal verb, so it can’t be followed by an infinitive - it’s an idiomatic lexical verb followed by a noun. “look forward to tomorrow” works, because “tomorrow” is a noun; “look forward to see” does not, as “see” is a verb. You have to turn it into a noun with the suffix -ing. It might help to imagine the phrase as having an unspoken “the event/act of” as in “I look forward to [the event/act of] seeing you”. Don’t actually use that version, it sounds very weird in actual English, but it shows how “seeing you” is a noun. The only time I would ever say “look forward to see” is where “look forward” is literal, i.e. point the eyes forward, and “to” means “in order to”, “so that you can”.

I finally hear someone talking about the verb as a noun structure cuz I've seen many of my friends struggle to know when they should or should not use the gerund form of a verb; another insight could be that whenever you use a preposition you MUST use a gerund after. For instance: with the verb read When reading About reading For reading Of reading And so on and so forth.

Of course, we know that we use the - ing form of a verb after prepositions, and "to" IS a preposition in his examples. But the point is: can learners easily distinguish between the preposition and the "to" of the infinitive? NO. That's why his tip IS very useful.
