As a sidenote, I believe the majority of people don’t understand what, controlling your emotions means. What I mean by this is you cannot control how you feel. Emotions are involuntary. Being happy, sad, angry, etc are involuntary in the same way as stabbing your toe is painful. You don’t choose how you feel and that’s ok. What you can and need to control is your reaction to the way you feel and finding a way to make it a benefit and work for you rather than against you. What I see you too often lately is this what I call toxic positivity. Where folks try to or claim to be happy all the time no matter what.
