As an avid horror fan I have to say this sci fi series is among the most terrifying things I’ve ever read.

3 Body Problem introduces a unique concept know as the "dark forest". I won't spoil anything, but I will lay some foundational tidbits. The universe is big and there is always, always a bigger fish. Always.

It's an old and well known possible solution to Fermi's paradox, but the books breathes life into it in a way I've never seen before. Amazing series!

@PatrikWihlke Old, yes. Well-known, absolutely not. There are only a handful of academic works referencing this theory or similar theories, and only two examples of it appearing in pop culture, the vastly more famous one being The Dark Forest novel itself.

Pfft. Long have reigned The Returners. 😏
